Beautiful little machine...
I love my little snow thrower. I use it carefully and take really good care of it. Super inexpensive, and super light, it makes my life so much better with less time in the cold, and a much easier task for my body to contend with. The drive is 125' so I go the last 25 with a shovel! That's ok.

Best Purchase So Far This Year!
I’m a 62 year old widow that lives with my mom because I take of her and look after the house. We have a great neighbor that plows our driveway when it snows, but I still have to clean around the cars at the top and clear the concrete porch that runs the length of the house. After shoveling out of our first snow this year, I decided that I’m getting too old for this and I ordered the Snow Joe. It was very easy to assemble and after exchanging the original extension cord that I bought (rated amperage was too low), I couldn’t wait for the snow to fly again. We got a 4-inch snowfall, which, once the wind on this hill factors in, translates to drifts over a foot high. The Snow Joe cleared everything easily! On the higher drifts, I just “wheelied” the front up and sort of shaved them down from the top. I got everything cleared in about half an hour that would have taken me 2-3 hours to do with a shovel before. Can’t recommend enough!

DO NOT buy Model SJ618E Cannot get belts here
I have the SJ618E model (which they are still selling online here) and cannot get a replacement belt for them from this company or any company. Snowblower is completely useless without a belt.

Poor machine
Poor quality, snow shoot falls off every two or three steps. A snow shovel is better than this machine.

Impressed with the quality and price
I am surprised with the effectiveness and power of this machine. Well worth the price. For me, it was very helpful to watch the YouTube video instructions for assembly, as it was more simple and easier to understand. I also like how it has a soothing blender sound, instead of a loud powered machine that wakes up the neighborhood.

"Locked" snow hood blows right off in heavy snow!
The hood to direct the snow *blows off* with heavy snow. The clicking "lock" mechanism doesn't actually LOCK it securely. The engine is fine, which I tested when I bought it at season-end, but THIS problem one wouldn't discover until using it in snow. I had to do only small slivers of snow, making my job take 2- or even 3xs as long! And I had to run to chase the hood (in heavy snow) 20+ times. I will have to use DUCT TAPE to make it stay put, and hope that doesn't affect the swivel option, but fear it will. YES, I read all the directions to assemble, and YES, I put it together correctly. It's just poorly designed and needs to add bolts to make the hood actually stay ON. It also doesn't really handle the amount it says it well. It struggled with 4" of heavy snow. It would be better for light snow. DO NOT BUY. I will be looking for a new machine (NOT a Snow Joe) at the end of winter season. I hope I can make this machine last well enough to get me there.

Pulley nut strips out. no replacment available
The pulley is defective on this model. under use the nut embedded in the plastic pulley spins will not allow the auger to spin. A replacement pulley has not been available for over two years. I ended up drilling and pinning the plastic to the pulley

Good Performer, Good Design, Nice Color, used 5x
Discharge Chute Issue: The lower and upper discharge chute popped out of front of the ring the control crank turns. So, remove the single screw (#2 phillips, use the correct tool correctly please) and re-assemble it. This part (the chute, not the ring which stays with the machine) is currently out of stock, from which one might infer others have this issue. The screw takes the trust of snow material as it discharges and for it to breakaway on being bumped (my pant leg, dungarees, walking by in the hall by the exterior door) is a good thing or at least acceptable. This thing is so light to carry but do not lift by the chute, Unplug it first. Feed it from a GFI. Showjoe offers a cord which looks like what you want and that is what you must most watch when operating. SJ618E is kind of a good medium size for my situation (decks, northern Sierra) and depending on snow that JUST FELL and whether light (in the 20's Fahrenheit) or 30's ("cement") this easy-to-start squealer machine (motor noise) lofts the snow so you don't have to. If wet snow freezes ("cement") freezes no blower would be able to have its mouth (auger housing) pushed into the snowbank. Metal shovel to make digestible chunks and immediately before it refreezes use the snowthrower on the chunks you broke off the bank because everything snow-like and snow-worthy rehardens. Work slow, be safe. The motor noise tells you if you are working it too hard (don't, motor belt sheave pulley auger and scraper will last longer) and others possibly in the area to not move toward an activity involving throwing snow.

So Easy to Use - Love it!
Lightweight and easy. I'm 75 and love this little blower. Does a great job. Just be sure to use a 14 gauge extension cord like the instructions say to insure smooth and easy running and long life. I've been using mine for several years. Very satisfied!!

Great little snow thrower
Product easy to assemble - even in cold. SJ618E works wonderfully. Light, but powerful. I can't pull ignition string on gas engine. I have electric lawnmower, electric chainsaw. So this is wonderful. I can get snow out of my entire driveway - what a huge help. It helps to have experience with electric cord handling, from summertime tools - and this little snowthrower works great. 13 Amp power is enough for my use, and doesn't cause electrical problems of too much electric power draw from my house. I am so pleased - I can remove snow from my driveway (concrete) and live my life!!!

Worked well
With snow less than 2 inches my wheeled snow shovel was as easy to push as the snow thrower. But the Snow Joe worked better much in snow above that. I recommended to a friend.

Works for fluffy snow
There is a LOT of plastic. My first use was the morning after a three inch storm. It blew the snow pretty well, until I got to areas that the snow had been blown onto (I have a very wide driveway), and the heavy snow clogged the chute, and then actually pushed the chute off of the blower. I feel like the connection between the chute and the blower could be a little more substantial than the tiny plastic slide points.

worked better than expected
this surprised me with how well it worked. cleared 6 inches of new snow easily. it moved as fast as i could push it and threw it at least ten feet. cleared cement driveway walkway and gravel driveway in about two hours. with 50 ft of 12 ga extension cord there was no loss of power.

It appears to be a solid machine
Ever since I bought it. It has not snowed, so have not been able to use it. I can't wait for Winter to try it out. Maybe now I've bought one it won't snow again? Ever since I bought a generator, the power has not gone out! So, obviously both machines are a success.

Total satisfaction.
My wife and I assembled this blower without a problem. After assembly, and with some instruction, my wife, at 83 years of age, took it out on our deck and proceeded to shovel it clean. You can see the good job the machine did and the smile on my wife's face. Her comment was, "I don't have to lift another shovel full of snow"

Good product
This is my second snow thrower but my first electric one, should have gone straight to the electric snow thrower. I will never go back to the gas powered snow thrower.

Great value!
This product does a great job, as long as your expectations are realistic. The assembly is straight forward. The spin-knobs are easier to work with than plain old nuts and bolts. The directions are clear but, you almost don't need them. My only real complaint about this unit would be the plastic wheels. They provide very little traction for turning the unit around corners. Rubber tires would be a nice improvement. That said, the unit is light weight and easily maneuvered. The throwing distance is better than I expected. Highly recommended!
