Constructed from a single piece of steel, SlimJim Silver is the slimmest assisted knife in the world. With SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.), opening the blade is effortless and quick, making it one of the surest assisted technologies out there. The knife's tactile bumps and cutouts aid in control, and all features are purposeful and functional. Our patent-pending safety ensures the retention of the blade in the handle, acting as a double lock in the open position. I do love the knife However the knife seems to be a little rickety meaning the blade shakes and Wobbles when it is in the open position
Good but blade broke

The knife is sharp and low profile, but the tip of the blade broke off while opening a plastic container which is not what I expected from a brand like this
Slim Jim does not work.

Worst knife I have ever bought out of many. Assist does not work, very difficult to open. Very poor operation. Bought the SOG Slim Jim to replace a lost assisted open edc. Very poor decision. I did not heed numerous other poor reviews of the slim jim. Have tried to lubricate and break in knife to no avail.
Very diappointing

I had high expectations for this knife, but was very disappointed. I had constant difficulty opening the knife using the thumb studs, so had to open it manually. I returned the knife the same day. No where near the quality of my other SOG knives.

Difficult to open; just not a fluid operating knife. If you have two hands and need a very thing knife- it’s fine. Anything else, get something different.
Just my opinion

This is a small thin knife, which is what I was looking for. When opening the knife it doesn’t open with enough force to lock in place, the jimping seem to keep scraping the edge of the pocket and the clip does so agood of a job it’s hard to remove it from the pocket, I have other SOG products and love them, just not to happy about this one

Didn't open with assist. But it was flat and well made and desappeared in what ever I wanted it to dissapear in. No figit fun here. But it cuts well and it locked and unlocked... That's what they promised, so I guess they met that.
Good knife, has a stupid flaw.

I love the form factor and how it walks open. However, the blade lock is a stupid design that seems like an after thought. With only a thin, dimpled tab of metal that's meant to lock into two detents, it quickly wears out and just slides wherever it wants to. It's locked when you don't want it to be and vice versa. It would be better off omitted. I know there isn't much room because it's the "slimjim" but it really is annoying and could have been a better design.

I love this knife! It's light and easy to use. I carry it always. I do wish the tanto tip came in black, but if that is my only complaint, I'm doing good!

I love this knife. However it will slightly open in your pocket. I cut myself once and almost another time. I keep the blade against left side of my pocket.

as someone who has owned this knife since 2017ish and bought it twice, over all I love it. i clip it to one of my side pockets and forget its there until i need it. ive used it for work to open boxes and bags whenever needed so as a mechanic ive used it quite a bit. however, after a while the blade lock or safety wears out and slides freely, making it a little annoying when trying to open or close it. if this feature was removed i would easily give it a 10/10. as the blade retention when closed or open is strong enough to not worry about it unintentionally opening or cloosing, i feel its just a redundant feature. solid 9/10
Concept good, design not great.

The good: super sharp, well made, very light weight and thin. The bad: Assisted opening blade does not fully open and lock. Squeeze to close lock makes it difficult to close one handed and a little unsafe. Must use lock, knife opened in my pocket and it cut my finger.
Love SOG not particularly this knife

I love SOG knives and this was my favorite in the XL version but unfortunately the reason it’s a 3 star is due to the “spring assist”; it honestly shouldn’t even be labeled as that; I have to manually open it myself. Tried putting some grease on it to loosen the spring but had no luck. Love the quality and slim minimalist look but if you need quick access to the blade it’s not gonna happen
Good stuff!

Excellent EDC! Thin and light but big enough to do the job. Holds a sharp edge better that expected!
