Love lingers long.
What a treat to read! The author had me laughing out loud and then considering how easily life can change from joy to grief. Katie Campbell is an internationally known travel writer with the tagline - Miss Adventure - a play on the many misadventures in which she finds herself. Her dream of writing middle reader books uses Katie on the Fly for all the adventures. Not yet published, but enjoyed by her brother’s children. A trip to the Scottish Island of Mull to experience and provide publicity for Craighill and the Edwardian Experience allows her to explore a little of her ancestral roots. What she finds there gives her much to write about and even more to consider about a place to call home. The folklore, bits of Scottish wisdom and language brought the story to life. Will her faith and the faith of those she has learned to love help them to accept the past and look forward to the future God has planned? Time will tell. This review is written in thanks for the opportunity given through Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

Hilarious and heartwarming!
Readers are in for a treat!!!!!! Five stars is a no brainer for this Scottish romcom with a relatable heroine and dreamy hero! Austenland mixed with Leap Year and some hilarious Scottish hijinks makes this the perfect ode to the spirit of early 2000s romcoms while also serving as a love letter to the beauty of the scenery, culture, and people of Scotland. I loved that Katie Campbell was not-so-tiny, thoroughly clumsy, and completely relatable! Her journey to find the home and life God had for her was inspiring, but also quite snort-laugh inducing at times! And can we talk about Graham? SWOON!!!! Makes me want to run away to Scotland again! Pick up this hilarious and heartwarming Scottish romcom for a good message and a good laugh! Another five star treasure from Pepper Basham! I received a copy of this book for review purposes. My thoughts are my own, and I truly adored it!

A 5* Rom-Com With All the Things!
A bookshop, a granny book club, a Scottish manor house, a weasel (both animal and human), a dancing butler, a hairy coo (read the book to find out what this is) and (yes!) a Pepper Basham closet kissing scene…to name a few things I love about this book! This fun romp also has endearing characters and a sense of family I’d want to come home to. Other things I love about this book? The heroine, a ginger-headed travel writer, Katie Campbell, is larger than life (no pun intended) who can’t live up to her mom’s expectations, is beyond accident prone and in need of a hero to save her in more ways than one. Enter Graeme MacKerrow, a “handsome but grumpy, barrel-chested, blue-eyed Scot” who is closed off, owing to grief and hurt, when Katie “falls” into his life. This fun story shifts between the two MC’s (first person) POVs, which in my book (ha! pun intended) adds to the fun, thanks to knowing what’s going on in both of their heads! I chuckled a lot and might have even cried at the end (it was stellar!). This book is suitable for teens and older with no inappropriate intimate scenes and no bad language. I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.
