I was so happy to see a new Freddie and Grace adventure as they make me laugh with their antics and sticky situations they seem to fall into. You will be turning pages quickly to see what happens next as you travel from America to Scotland. I felt like I was in the castle as they explored to uncover secrets to an inheritance and discover just who can really be trusted. From edge of your seat crime solving, swoony romance, funny escapades, to faith and family you will be enthralled. A husband and wife sleuthing team makes for an interesting read as their love, bantering, and crime solving abilities combine to make an all around enjoyable reading experience. You will not be disappointed in this one or the series with believable characters and descriptive writing let yourself be transported. I received a complimentary copy from CelebrateLit/Barbour Publishing. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

Anytime I get to join Frederick and Grace on another adventure, I know it will be an excellent read! I love spunky Grace and adorable Frederick, and getting a married couple as a main focus in series is unique and totally wonderful! I love seeing their romance progress— as well as their sleuthing skills! This mystery is just as adventurous, page-turning, and surprising as the ones before it! And from Edwardian small-town Virginia to the Scottish Highlands, this story has beautiful settings and interesting characters to add flavor to the mystery! Five stars as always for any Freddie and Grace Mystery, and I look forward to more! I received a copy of this book from the publisher, and a positive review was not required. I really truly loved it!

Freddie and Grace have officially become my favorite sleuthing duo, a title once held by Nick and Nora Charles. Only people of a certain age will understand my reference to The Thin Man franchise, featuring a sleuthing team that was popular in both movies and TV in the late 1930s, 40s, and even 1950s. Nick and Nora were witty, crafty, and totally in love, and so are newlyweds Freddie and Grace. Their latest adventure, set in both Virginia and Scotland, features danger, murder, and an unexpected inheritance for Grace and her sister Lillas. Grace and Freddie's love and devotion for each other are a joy, and I especially love their humor, banter, and delightful approach to life. Grace can't help being drawn into a mystery, but Freddie isn't far behind! If you enjoy sweet romance, endearing characters, and page-turning intrigue, you will want to read The Highland Heist. It can be considered a standalone, but reading the other books in Pepper Basham's cozy mystery series will provide the ultimate reading entertainment! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Oh my gosh - I love Freddie and Grace mysteries. They manage to get themselves into the most incredible situations, which they also somehow manage to get out of! Zahra, their adopted Egyptian daughter, fits in so well and even helps with solving mysteries. Once again they find that the unexpected culprits are often the most dangerous. There is murder, an inheritance in Scotland and more to keep you guessing and even laughing out loud at times. An ebook was made available through Barbour Publishing and NetGalley. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited. You really don’t want to miss #4. Perhaps Blake could feature in #5??

This is one of my "go to" authors. I have enjoyed all her books and this book just grabbed my attention. I am a mystery lover and this book fit the bill! I enjoy a clean romance and historical always catches my attention. And this book did just that. I loved the characters and want to continue reading everything from this author. This book is a mix of all those things that I love in a book. I received an ARC copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fans of Freddie and Grace are in for a treat, as their story has them travel to Grace’s home and then on to Scotland. Fast paced, exceptional characters (including some that return to the storyline), and another mystery will keep you reading to the end. The only thing I didn’t like about this story was that it was over too soon! This book is suitable for teens and older with no inappropriate intimate scenes and no bad language. I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.

While Hurricane Helene may have pushed back the deadline of The Highland Heist, it was well worth the wait. This fourth book in Basham's Freddie & Grace mystery series is every bit as delightful as all the rest. Lady Astley might not be the most adept at demonstrating the manners of a well-bred lady, but she is quite adept at solving crimes, especially with the assistance of her husband. This time the crime is her brother-in-law's murder with her sister being a prime suspect. Things are complicated further by the clock's ticking on the discovery of a hidden treasure. The Highland Heist is a lighthearted read. The protagonists' reliance on God is a testimony to the other characters as well as to the reader, yet the faith-based element is tastefully done and not heavy-handed. While it will work well as a stand-alone read, the book will be best enjoyed by reading the series in sequence. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of The Highland Heist from Barbour Publishing via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own. I highly recommend Pepper Basham's historical novels.
