plastic connectors split

several plastic corners broke and unit fell over. When I started trying to rebuild it, I noticed many more plastic corner pieces were already splitting along the seams. Less than 2 years old and unit fell apart. It was set up in a closet so not much handling and not much weight (mostly sandles & athletic shoes) On the plus side - It did hold a lot of shoes.
