A: I have never owned a bluray player that did not play DVDs. I was under the impression all bluray players play DVDs too and I have owned 2 and both of them do.

A: It plays both types of DVDs for us. As far as the wireless streaming interface goes, it's horrible. If you leave the device on but aren't watching it, it freezes up and you have to unplug it for 30 seconds to get it to boot up again. It's extremely slow starting up, and even though it stores the wireless network information, the system constantly acts as though it doesn't have that information and it can't connect, and you have to go through the setup process almost every time. I would not recommend this player!

A: As far as I know, the HDMI cable is the only way to hook it up. I use it primarily to stream netflix and I have never had a problem pausing the shows, as some of the other reviewers have.
