1. Bring 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil; salt to taste, if desired.
2. Add pasta and return to boil, stirring occasionally.**
3. Boil 10 to 11 minutes or until pasta is desired tenderness. Remove from heat; drain.
**You may need to break spaghetti or stir as it softens to ensure it is fully covered with water.
