The reviews for the 28.5" said it doesn't bounce but the ones for the 27.5" didn't mention that, so I gave it a try. It doesn't bounce. Period. Side by side comparisons with other balls- these Spalding balls, despite the higher price, don't bounce.

Do not buy this ball. Our first one didn’t hold air at all and target replaced it. They sent a second one and that one doesn’t hold any air either- the balls are flat within minutes of pumping them. Don’t waste your money. I only gave it one star because I couldn’t write a review otherwise - it should be no stars.

This 27.5 size ball is great for 5-7 year olds. It is not as heavy as a full size basketball. It also does not bounce high with normal dribbling pressure so your child can learn how to dribble properly. A full size ball with good bounce will be too high for most kids. My son is dribbling and running with good speed already.
