Q: Can this be used before a storm to prevent accumulation?

A: Yes. Although it won't be able to keep up with heavy accumulation, spreading it before winter weather can help prevent build up of snow and ice.

Q: is this safe for asphalt and concrete?

A: All ice melt products, along with the freeze and thaw cycle, can damage concrete. To minimize surface damage, use only enough ice melt to loosen snow or ice, and then promptly remove slush and ice from concrete surfaces.

A: Yes, it's made with magnesium chloride and calcium magnesium acetate, which is less likely to cause irritation to skin/paws than sodium chloride, the ingredient most often used in ice melts. While less irritating than conventional ice melt products, care should be taken to ensure it is not ingested and it's always a good idea to wipe your pets paws to be extra safe

The salt had spilled out into the box. When I went to pick up the box the salt was pouring out of the corner of the box. I’m very disappointed in the delivery and how it was left on my door step.

You have to use a lot to melt ice and it doesn’t do much even when using the whole container. It melted it just enough to allow the ice to refreeze in a smoother, more dangerous solid sheet of ice.

this product worked well when it was pelletized. it is now in large flat flakes and it is hard to get out of the lid dispenser please change this back to pellets!!

Barely melted anything after shoveling the porch, ramp, and drive way. Doesn’t cover much either. Used half a jug and that only covered 2x14 ft area (that is how long/wide the walk area is in total) and again it didn’t even melt anything! Literally table salt works better and covers more than this. Wish I could get a refund.

This makes the ground and the bottom of your shoes dangerously slippery. Should be removed from market.

The jugs came in the box half open and one jug was spilled into the box. As I picked the box up, the product spilled unto my carpet and was stuck to the carpet with the snow from our shoes. So I had to use cool tap water and carpet cleaner to clean the mess. And the product itself didn’t do much to melt the ice..

I don’t think this is as effective as the non pet safe product but it does the job! I think the products that contain all the chemicals are better but I’d prefer this for my senior lady’s paws!

The jugs came to me and the tops were opened. It would’ve been nice if they were taped shut. There was a lot of salt in the bottom of the box.

this product is not pet safe. My dog has been vomiting and cannot keep food or water down since walking on this. We also wipe his feet after he comes in so it’s clear that even a small amount of this stuff is toxic to dogs. I feel horrible for putting him at risk with what I thought was safe product. Please do not buy this.

This is absolutely not pet safe. Do not use. My puppy started crying and limping after getting one grain of salt on their paw. Please do not buy this if you have pets. Does not work for them.

I have been using this product for a few years to melt ice on my concrete steps and driveway. It seems to do a good job melting the ice and we haven’t had any problems with our dog and he will inadvertently walk through it and it will get on his paws.
