A: Ignore the previous answer - this does include sodium chloride.

While less irritating than conventional ice melt products, care should be taken to ensure it is not ingested and it's always a good idea to wipe your pets paws to be extra safe.

A: Salt, along with the freeze and thaw cycle, can damage concrete, asphalt/flagstone. To minimize surface damage, use only enough Ice Melt to loosen snow or ice, and then promptly remove slush and ice from concrete surfaces. This product is to be used at the consumer’s risk of loss from damage to surfaces.

Both containers had broken caps when delivered. Clearly they were broken before packaging because someone taped it to hold it in place with randomly placed packing tape. Completely negates the utility of buying these in containers, rather than a big bag of salt. I will be returning in store.

I used about a cupful on the icy snow left on the driveway below the last step down from my place. I sprinkled it on a patch where shoveling didn't work and left it for about 40 minutes. The patch where I had applied the Ice Melt shoveled right up! VERY pleased with this product.

One reason for low review: Poor packaging. The lid was completely off and about half of the pellets came dropping out of the box. I order from Target regularly and they are not shy with the tape to ship but this didn’t have ANY measures taken to keep the lid intact. Not a lick of tape.

Ordered 5 jugs, two came seperately. Three came in the same box. When I opened the one that contained 3 jugs, all the tops were off, the ice melt spilled all over my rug. Started a replacement, they asked me to return damaged items. Had to break up original box and one jug to fit in a seperate box, as the original box was destroyed . It would have leaked all the way back!!! Cannot believe I had to do this. Sent pictures. Would have been easier to just put in the garbage and await replacement jugs!! In the future, might be wise to pad box or ship individually. Don’t think Target is going to clean my mess!!!!

Really love this. Used during our recent snow/ice event on the front porch and walk way. It keeps the are clar and clean. The drive way was the issue I for got about. I was able to place on top of the ice/snow and it made it slushy so that we were able to clear the area. Highly recommended.

This item was not secure in the box when I received it. Almost everything I receive from Target is in a plastic bag or taped up with target tape. I received this item with none of that and with the lid open, and my salt sitting inside the box out of the container.
