Step2 Octagon Picnic Table with Umbrella

This picnic table is a great addition to our outdoor play area.

The screws were very difficult to screw in so we tried other options but were never able to get the tabletop secure.

Very happy with this purchase! My grandkids love it and it cleans up easily They have lunch and snacks outside also do painting outside then just hose it off

Although the table looks cute it hasn’t been used yet. My husband put it together today and his final comment was “poor design—never purchase anything from this company again.” Before assembling, he watched a YouTube video put out by Step 2 saying how easily the main parts snapped together. Not so and getting the screws in really require a power tool and a lot of pressure to keep pieces in place. We hope it holds together when it’s put to use.

I thought that for the high price this would be a quality and durable product. The seats and the table are hollowed out plastic. The table puffs up with air and when you press down on it, it decompresses. I kept it because my husband went ahead and set it up, but will probably regret doing so.

I received an email that someone was asking this question, but when I clicked on the link to answer it, the page on this site was a dud, so, here's the question, "How do you install the umbrella? The round, white piece is giving me problems." The short answer: You don't, and, the white piece is useless. The long answer is, even an expert putter-togetherer and instructions-follower in our household could find no way to secure it, so that is why I am confident with my short answer. The table is a great size, and very cute. I detract a star because the tabletop is not flat once put together; it is hollow, molded plastic, so it ripples a bit. If you need to set a cup on it, say, without it falling over and spilling out, you should adjust your expectation. Also, all the questions about replacing the umbrella - I paid more for the table with the umbrella that has the leaves on it, it is so attractive, yet there is no clear answer in the Q&A's below, on how or if you can get that exact umbrella again. The great: my two-year-old granddaughter can seat herself easily at this table, and, at supported sections of the benches, I can sit there with her (with my legs facing out, not with my legs under the table) and I'm 150 lbs. We have the table next to where our hose hooks up, and it's handy for her water toys to rest on and play with.

Having our grandchildren over for lunch or dinner is so much easier now. The picnic table allows them to enjoy their own table now and their parents close by. Even after eating they used the table to work on art projects. We're so happy we made this purchase.

Our2 year old Grand-daughter absolutely loves this Picnic Table with Leaf Umbrella. She enjoys playing in the backyard and playing with her toys on this table. It makes a great addition to her play yard.

Kids are really enjoying their own table! I thought it would be a little sturdier, especially when building it. I know hallow plastic I guess is not the sturdiest material. Not happy I had to drill most holes myself prior to using the screws they supplied. Few more details on the instructions would have been nice. Not sure how long umbrella will last, but hopeful it will last awhile if I take down often at night and before windy weather.

Purchased this table a little over 6 years ago and other than the umbrella it is still in perfect condition. Even the color has not faded. The umbrella only last a couple of seasons, but I expected that. It has been used for countless birthdays, holidays, get togethers, and kid crafts/projects indoors and out. Our family has loved it but kids are now too big for it at 7 and 10 so we are passing it on to another family. We have had many step2 products over the years and all have held up perfectly. Would highly recommend to anyone with kids.

Playtime hasn't been funner for the kids. I went a larger picnic table and the older kids love it.
