A: Hello Lucy, the Sterilite Deep Clip Box is not air tight. The lid securely snaps to the base, keeping contents safely in place and concealed. For more secure storage solution, we recommended our line of Gasket Boxes. The gasketed seal safeguards items from the elements, dust, and pests.

Q: The overall assembled length says 17" (Overall Assembled Size: 17" x 11 1/8" x 6 1/2"), but the diagram (4th image) says 14" long? Which length/size storage box is this? There are 2 different lengths in the image versus the description.

I received this as a trial product. It seals tightly and is very durable. I used it to put towels and wash cloths in. It was under my bathroom sink. No moisture got in.

We used this to store my daughter's breakable pieces for some larger doll toys and accessories. This was the PERFECT box for them! It was deep enough to hold larger items and clear, so that we could see inside. The clips on the lids have held securely, so that we don't have to worry about things falling out accidentally while carrying. It's nice and flat, so that we can easily stack her storage containers together. I would definitely get more of these; these are SO useful, and I can see the boxes being used for toy building sets / bricks, too! My only quibble is that it's not completely one size; it gets larger towards the top. I would rather it be consistent to maximize storage usage. My hubby likes to pile papers up all over the living room and near his desk (which is in the living room). I can't stand having random stuff everywhere. I wanted something to put all his mail and random papers that he leaves laying around into something sturdy. This fits papers perfectly. I bought a few as now I use them to store other documents.
