Listen, I know this lamp is objectively adorable for the price. And MAYBE the earlier versions were actually well made. But if you’re reading this in Spring 2026, let me save you the emotional journey: skip this one and just accept your fate of buying the overpriced pleated-shade lamp from West Elm instead. The problems started immediately. The plastic “paint” coating on the bottom of the lamp began peeling off simply from unpacking it. I didn’t even have to touch the base of the lamp itself for it to begin raining gold flecks. Then came the structural engineering issues: The pole/stick of the lamp wasn’t actually secured to the base, and the top section where the light bulbs go also wasn’t attached properly. When I tried twisting the pole into place, instead of tightening, it just spun the electrical cord around internally doing absolutely nothing to actually keep the lamp pieces together. The screws seemed completely stripped/bald from the start. In summary: incredibly cute lamp, but don’t be the person that I was, hoping that your experience will be different than the other terrible reviews.

Broken or defective?
I don't know if this is a manufacturing defect, or if these lamps were broken before they were shipped to me and someone in shipping decided it was ok to send not one but two broken lamps, but this is a real disappointment. Beautiful lamp horrible quality
I am absolutely in love with the look of this lamp, it’s perfect for the vision of my daughters nursery. I did a pickup order because there was only one left and the reviews for shipped lamps were awful. There is one of the three feet attached on the bottom that’s needed for the lamp to sit correctly. The paint was chipping off all over on the bottom as well. Where you put the bulbs looks like a ring of a toilet paper roll between where the bulb goes and the metal frame and I thought it was packaging protection but it doesn’t actually come off. Again, the design is stunning but the execution is poor at best.

This is possibly the most cutest, yet poorly made/shipped lamp. It was missing three feet from the bottom to stabilize it and it was difficult to set the shade on straight. Like others have commented, it was simply thrown into a box and shipped (no packing materials or protection) and arrived dented and dirty. With some work, I cleaned it up, straightened it out, and ordered new feet for the bottom to stabilize but it took a lot of work to get this lamp to a place where it can actually be used. Just be aware of these issues when ordering.
