Storm Warnings, Elizabeth Goddard’s new Hidden Bay series starts off with an exciting adventure in the Pacific Northwest along the Washington coast. It is full of twists and turns, heart stopping incidents, a surprising villain, fierce storms, romance, and faith. The two main characters, Hawk and Remi, each must heal from past trauma and Remi’s past will throw them together in a race to save Remi from a mysterious stranger. The supporting characters are well developed and an integral part of the story. The faith element was a silver thread running through the story. As Hawk decides during a startling turn of events, “maybe that’s what despair did. It brought a man to his knees before God.” I recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic suspense. I love the main characters, Remi and Hawk. Both of them are dealing with issues in their past. Remi is trying to remember what happened that caused her to wake up in a hospital with no memory of why she is there. Hawk is trying to find his brother who he believes is an assassin. The descriptions of the storms that are raging while Hawk and Remi are running/driving/flying make you feel like you are there. There is a lot of mystery and suspense in this story and Remi trying to remember her past, why is someone trying to kill her? There is plenty of action and plot twists too, a little romance and some humor. I cannot wait to read the second book in the series. Definitely edge of your seat story!

I loved learning about the past experiences that still held Remi and Hawk captive and watching their relationship evolve from suspicion to acceptance to total trust was especially gratifying. And I can't forget the sweet romance!! Storm Warning is a must-read for all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense and a wonderful introduction to the Hidden Bay series. Elizabeth Goddard holds her readers firmly in the palm of her hand from start to finish in her most recent novel, Storm Warning. I highly recommend Storm Warning for fans of romantic suspense. The action, intrigue, and personal lives of the main characters are all quite intense. The physical storms almost seem as if they are a character in the story as Goddard reveals their impact and ferocity. Surprises abound. I received this book as an ARC with no expectations of a postive review. Remi Grant moved to Hidden Bay to try to recover the memories she had forgotten. Hawk came to Hidden Bay to recover from a tramatic experience while being a police officer in which he lost his job. Remi is the manager of the lodge and cottages. More than one person wanted Remi to remember. She was flustrated that nothing was coming back. Why could she not remember? She was suddenly caught in a battle with unknown assailants who wanted her alive to extract what she could not remember. Hawk was there at every turn to protect her. Who could they trust? This book had so many twists and turns that you never saw coming. It is a fabulous new series that is a must read.

The setting of a stormy coast in Washington state is perfect for the suspense that ramps up constantly in this book, even as the intensity of the storm increases. Remi Grant has lost a significant part of her memory and has sought refuge in a lodge on the coast, helping to manage the lodge while she tries to recover from amnesia. When she realizes that someone wants her to remember what happened on that army helicopter, she also starts to face danger from an unknown assailant. Hawk Beckett is staying at the lodge while he recovers from his own mishap in a helicopter and becomes Remi’s rescuer from several life-threatening situations. Together, the two of them set out to determine what has made Remi a threat to unknown powers and how they can neutralize that threat. The pace of this book is as fast as the powerful storm in the story and the characters are realistically portrayed and dynamic. I particularly enjoyed the research that the author included about the possible source of the villains and why they were coming after Remi. These details enriched the story with authenticity and added to the immersive drama. There are so many head-spinning twists and well-placed red herrings that I was thrilled to read a book that I could not guess what would happen next. The author is known for her riveting suspense and this heart-in-your-throat book did not disappoint. The romance is woven well into the story, but the main thrust of the book is the gripping suspense and the escalating tension that kept me completely engrossed by the story from beginning to end.
