Wireless range is no good. Will not hold the Wi-Fi signal. Misses a lot that other cameras pick up. Lasted about 7 months and just completely quit working.

Having worked for a retailer selling cctv in the past. I always tried to dissuade people from wireless camera systems because they are a bit hit and miss. I should have taken my own advice, as the signal strength from the camera to the NVR is non existent. The two cameras are less than 3 meters away albeit on the otherside of a new build house brick wall. Even when setup on the test bench the signal isn’t great. The other issue that I came across was if you wall mount the camera and try and point it to the left you can’t rotate the camera position to make the image level. The only way I could do it was to cut the metal stop off and then take care not to turn the camera too much, as this would twist the wires and damage them. Also, you can’t keep the aerial vertical in this situation. Tried adding a photo to illustrate, but the review won’t let me.

Hello Maploid, Thank you for sharing your feedback. You are right on the higher level of signal reliability of wired vs. wireless devices. The layout and size of the building, Wi-Fi router location, and where your NVR will be installed all play a part in where your cameras are placed and which mode they will operate on. Also, consider the infrastructure within the residence or if there are multiple stories and other surrounding Wi-Fi-type devices. In medium and large size dwellings, there might be Wi-Fi dead spots where devices fail to find a Wi-Fi signal or the signal strength is extremely low. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a better security system than what I had and decided to try this one. The first thing I love about it: it's totally weather-proof, so I don't have to worry about the cameras being negatively affected by snow and rain. We've had a ton of rain and the cameras still work like a charm. Another bonus is that any recordings will be there for me when I review. Everything is backed up to the cloud and I can control everything with my phone app. That helps me out when I'm away or in bed. Being able to talk to a visitor without opening my door makes me feel incredibly safe. Set up took about 30 minutes and was pretty easy.
