Q: Is the bottom of the laptop compartment sufficiently padded? Many laptop bags with a "padded" sleeve for some reason don't pad the bottom which takes the most abuse.

    Best backpack I've ever owned. Second time buying one.

    Best quality, comfort, durability, and organization. Crush-resistant glasses pocket. Intuitive, secure organization. Keep your stuff where you put it, instantly accessible. The backpack is shockingly lightweight for its durability. The straps have a suspension feature, which lessens strain on your shoulders. It has an airflow system to keep your back from getting sweaty and padding between your back and the things inside your pack. I would never ever pay this much for any other backpack. My last one far outlasted it's five-year warranty. The resale value is insane. Secure, accessible exterior water bottle pouch. Interior carabiner for keys. You will be able to reach inside this backpack and get anything you want out of it without looking. It is water – resistant. None of the fabric and my old one has ever worn through despite aggressive, daily use for years as a medic and a firefighter. What eventually began to fail was the zippers due to my habit of cramming 70 pounds of stuff into it and thereby putting excessive strain on the zipper. That was 100% my fault. Regardless, the zippers still work, but if they’re strained, they have a tendency to begin to open. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the same bag brand new for sale. I’m considering buying two.

    Needs sternum strap

    I have used Swiss Gear backpacks for at least the past 15 years. This one has the best nooks and crannies of all of them, some can organize my laptop, iPad, charging cords, reading material, pens, business cards, and whatever else I need to take with me… and still fit it under the plane seat. Only thing I don’t like… is the absence of a sternum strap. I just bought an aftermarket one, and will be taking the backpack to my tailor to have it securely attached to the shoulder straps. I thought about buying an entire new backpack, but have not found another to rival this one. And, the new sternum strap has a magnetic catch, which is super convenient. $40 at my tailor’s is better than $150 for a new backpack, especially when this one is still like new.

    Big with many compartments but some drawbacks

    It is roomy, with many compartments and is durable so far but when it sits on the end it falls over (away from the shoulder straps. The front section has so many sections if it's unzipped it folds in half and isn't very stable. I never use the built-in USB cable as it's kind of a waste. I have a larger backpack that is too big but holds about the same amount of items. This one is less cumbersome. One of the zippers on the front is partially obstructed by a small elastic strap that is awkward.

    I have used this bag almost every day for 6 years

    I have used this bag almost every day for 6 years-- it's been through countless trips, my entire college career, and I use it for everything. It's finally starting to show wear and tear so I'm going to buy a new one! Very durable.

    Backpack is great. All the pockets works well for my Pickleball gear. The only downside is where sunglasses pocket and it's not flush or flat. Can get in the way of using the larger pocket.
