We're so sorry to hear you had this experience while using Tampax. It's possible that the tampon may not be inserted correctly. Make sure you follow the instructions on how to insert a tampon, and use the absorbency you need. Keep in mind that the absorbency you need changes from the beginning to the end of your period. If you have problems inserting the cardboard tampon specifically, you might try Tampax Pearl - the plastic applicator makes insertion easier. Tampax Cardboard Applicator tampons are designed with an Anti-Slip Grip for easy tampon insertion and LeakGuard Skit to help stop leaks before they happen. Using the right absorbency for your flow should provide 4 to 8 hours of protection, so we're sorry to hear you experienced leakage. If the tampon isn't inserted correctly it may leak. For best results, insert the tip of your applicator into your vagina at a slight upward angle. Slide the outer tube all the way into your vagina until your fingers touch your body. Using your index finger or your other hand, push the inner tube all the way into the outer tube then remove the applicator. We recognize everyone's needs are unique so we offer a wide variety of products to meet those needs. It sounds like Tampax Radiant or our full-sized Pearl tampons may be a better fit for you as both have the traditional applicator design and offer our best level of protection.
