Q: Can this be used in a lake/sandy setting?

  • A: Hi Jessica. There is a switch on the underside of the shark that needs to be switched from the Automatic mode to the ON mode. Once you have changed the switch, turn off the remote, then turn it back on, place the shark in the water and hold down the remote buttons as described in the the instructions that came with the toy.     Not well built

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Terra RC shark toy looks fun but was disappointing. The tail kept falling off, making it hard to use. The kids quickly got frustrated and lost interest.

    Having trouble finding out how to get a replacement charger . And the tail parts come off ALOT. But all in all my grandson has fun in the pool and bath with it .

    Other reviews are deceptive

    I was hesitant to buy this for my 3 year old boy based on the low star rating. After reading them though it seemed like the only issue was that people thought for some reason it would work outside of water. I’m so glad I got it for my boy because it works great in our pool and is so easy to use! I wish people would read descriptions before buying something like this, of course the toy shark is meant for use in pools and tubs.

    Scam

    Despite reading all instructions, charging the shark and putting fresh batteries in the remote, our shark does not work. The only feature that works is the "auto" feature which makes the shark swim in circles but you can't control the shark as advertised. My son who loves playing in the pool was so disappointed. Bought for a birthday gift. If you are considering... buy something else!

    Works only in water! But not the remote

    Go it charged it and was like ok it doesn’t work. Then I’m like maybe I should read the instructions and it says it only works in water. My only gripe is the remote isn’t water proof

    The Toy of Disappointment and Tears

    Honestly it’s almost scam-worthy that they are still selling this junk with all the negative reviews stating the same issue. Like many others, ours was a one time use toy as well. I then had to deal with a very upset little boy when I told him it was broken and needs to be returned and why we wouldn’t be buying a new one.

    Apparently one-time use.

    Worked once, and that was it. It seems to be shorting out when trying to charge for a second time. What as waste of money.

    Defective Item

    If I could give this a no star I would. The item does not work. I couldn’t even return the item because it was a Xmas gift and the box was ripped out of excitement. When we put the shark on the charger it don’t charge.
