I bought the 100 and I was impressed by how much air it moved and how quiet it was it stayed this way for about 6 months then it started getting noisier and noisier but air flow was still good after another 2 months started to lose air flow out of one side of the pump figured it was just the stone so replaced the stone with no difference another month and lost one of the outputs completely kept running it figuring 1 is better than none after another month lost both sides. I pulled it apart and the diaphragms looked like new still so I was confused but after further inspection the check valves in the pump were not seating properly anymore these are tiny pieces of silicone that I cant see fixing without replacement. So now its dead with only 4 tiny piece of silicone that have gone bad seems like such a waste.

I purchased 2 pumps A 60-100 and a 30-60. both stopped working in less than a year. Just got off the phone with their customer service and was told that the only thing that could be wrong with them is the diaphragms and that they are not covered. Useless warranty since it covers nothing and it does not say that this is not covered

I bought a Whisper 100 air pump and it barely lasted a year before both rubber diaphragms tore. Tetra refuses to cover the defect and wants to sell me a repair kit. The kit costs about the same as a new pump. Guess that I will have to try another brand.

Bought another whisper. Compared to a cheaper asian brand that I bought and regretted the Whisper is better all around. Using it for my MBBR filter for my aquarium to change the ammonia to nitrate the whisper is a solid air pump. For the money I spent on the cheaper brand the air output is a joke. Switched back to a Tetra Whisper pump.

I've bought two of these pumps back to back and neither of them have worked.

These are great air pumps. Super simple and reliable. Relatively quiet. Very inexpensive when on sale. There are even repair parts available. What more could you ask for?

I guess i don't understand the bad reviews i have been in aquariums for 40 yes 40 years and have had 4 whisper air pumps and a second 100 for a spare 4 years ago and still haven't needed it. The first and second were replaced to get bigger ones. I have only the one pump to a central air line I tap all my tanks from. My present 100 is running airstones in a 150 two 55s and a 10. It also runs a bubble filter in a 5.5 triops tank with no problem. Great product and would recommend for any one wanting a strong and dependable pump. 5+ star product.

I have 3 Whisper 60s. 1 3yo and 2 2yo. Works great. Not noisy. Haven't had a problem with any of them. I have 5 lines running off each one. Granted I haven't tried anything else but....

I bought a 2 of those airpumps one is good up too 100 gallons and that one is on my 90 gallon only way to get bubbles is to lift the airstone almost to the top and the other pump is a 30-60 on my 40 gallon tank same problem I tried different stones and still no good.
Silent at first but they don't last long.

These break within a few years. I have had ~5 of them so far and there are 3 main things that fail.1: Diaphragm is a rubbery material that eventually tears. Looks like it could be easy to replace but they don't seem to have replacement parts.2: Rubber Sleeve on the arm that holds the diaphragm - this rubber is being vibrated by the diaphragm. Over time it starts to degrade and it loses its tight fit on the housing around it. At this point the arm starts sliding up and it gets VERY loud. You can shove it down and hot-glue it into place for another 6 or so months of silent operation.3: Plastic housing around the rubber sleeve cracks. On one of my pumps a chunk of the plastic housing cracked off adding a lovely rattle to the buzz. I was able to repair it using a 3D Printer pen set to ABS temperature (As I'm fairy certain that sleeve is ABS.) and adding enough mass to the part to allow it to function again but depending on where the crack forms I'm not sure this will work for everyone. If Tetra ever makes small linear piston pumps for this same gallon range I'd buy that in a heartbeat.I don't recommend this product but as it stands I don't think I recommend any diaphragm based air pumps.

These air pumps look good while they work but save yourself the hustle and disappointment. My last one has lasted only a couple of months. Seems like one side always dies. Cheap is expensive. I will buy a different more expensive brand. I think I have 3 that are not working
Good Thing They Are Cheap Because They Don't Last

Very Quite and works well for a short time. If this unit woudl last more than two months it would be AWESOME!!!Thanks said I bought this pump in September to replace an identical one i was given. I liked it because it was quiet but to buy the entire unit was only slightly more than the replacement diaphragms to repair. Seemed like a logical solution.Unfortunately by early November it only works on one side. Now this one needs replacement diaphragms after only two months. So do I buy another one and replace it again in two months or try something different? Decisions Decisions Decisions.

I had a Whisper 100 connected to two sponge filters on my 55gal tank. Five months ago one port stopped working so I replaced it. The replacement developed the same problem and also stopped working. Bought another one today plugged it in and one port is significantly weaker than the other. Sorry Tetra 3 strikes and youre out.

Bought a tetra air pump 3 months ago after about a month the nozzle broke off I noticed a hissing sound coming from it and when i went to inspect the hose by the nozzle it fell right off. I called customer service and the representative was very rude what a turn off. made me feel like it was my fault. when in reality it was just a cruddy product. Also he wanted me to mail it in...Why would I spend the money on shipping when it cost more than a new pump? I will take the money it would cost to ship this back to you and instead spend it on a new air pump from another company who actually cares about their customer satisfaction. I have had other products from different companies break and they always replaced them free of charge no questions asked. So why does Tetra make this so difficult. Don't worry about responding to this because you just lost a customer of more than 25 years. Extremely upset with the incompetence of the customer service rep as well.

I bought this pump to push some air for two air stones in a 44 gallon corner tank. After a couple of months at most one of the two outlets doesn't push enough air for an air stone. Yes tetra probably has a kit to rebuilt the inside but should I have to after a couple of months of service? Not at all impressed with this product.

Just got my Whisper 100 and have it set up. I age my change water in a large deep container and wanted to aerate it. This pump is pushing two large airstones like a champ from 36 inches deep. This pump reminds me of the old Silent Giant. Is it loud ? No it is not to my ear. It produces that pleasant background hum that I've enjoyed in my fish room for years. Does it look cool ? Yes it does but then I'm one of those fish nerds that looks at everything in everyone's fish room just to see what folks do. Tetra has never let me down and I'm proud to have this monster.
