Book Synopsis

Young Thomas is intent on learning everything he can about the "Hopi Way" from his grandfather, the most important elder in the in the village of Mishongovi on Second Mesa. The story embraces the traditions and ceremonies important for the survival of the tribe, including the famous Chu'tiva snake dance ceremony. Thomas learns about the history of his people and is intent on participating in the ceremonies where he learns bravery and dedication to other members of his clan.
