About this item
Description
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds - or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it's up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

It's no Disney...but still fun.
If you're like me, you'll watch any movie if it seems interesting or entertaining enough - to you. Thanks to the internet, everyone gets to become a critic, but professional or not, every single one of them is simply an opinion - including this one: For those not familiar with the Angry Birds game, birds of various personalities and abilities aim to protect their eggs from the rival, the pigs. Utilizing a sling shot, the birds are launched at constructs where the pigs reside. Points are accumulated by knocking down the structures and destroying the pigs. No blood or gruesome violence - just animated fun and a great way to orient kids (4 and older) to physics an geometry. Regarding the movie - It takes the characters from the game and simply gives them a little more depth (speaking, and with limbs, unlike the game), doing a reasonable job exploring their personalities and develops a story with the bird and pig rivalry. The animation is bright and colorful, and includes lots of slapstick and creative one-liners that even the adults will enjoy (my favorite: "Something about those pigs isn't kosher"). If this movie looks humorous to you after watching the trailer, chances are you will enjoy it. Again, not to a Disney level - but a quality, entertaining movie with heart nonetheless.
