About the Author
Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840) is the undisputed master of botanical art. His illustrations of flowers occupy the intersection of art and science, and they represent a unique fusion of botanical precision with artistic elegance. John James Audubon was a naturalist and painter and is considered one of the greatest bird artists of all time. Born in Haiti in 1785, he spent much of his life travelling North America observing, catching and drawing birds and animals in remarkable detail.
