About the Author
Noel Streatfeild's (1895-1986) first novel, Ballet Shoes, is her best-known book but she went on to write many well-loved books for children, including Circus Shoes which won the Carnegie Medal, Skating Shoes, and Theater Shoes. Shirley Hughes is the author of more than 200 books, including the Alfie series.
