This is your bench
Where you’ll witness great joy.
From here you will rest
See the growth of our boy.

In The Bench, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, touchingly captures the evolving and expanding relationship between father and son and reminds us of the many ways that love can take shape and be expressed in a modern family.

Evoking a deep sense of warmth, connection, and compassion, The Duchess’s debut children’s book gives us a window into shared and enduring moments between a diverse group of fathers and sons—moments of peace and reflection, trust and belief, discovery and learning, and comfort and nurture.
Working in watercolor for the first time, Caldecott-winning, bestselling illustrator Christian Robinson expands on his signature style to bring joy and softness to the pages, reflecting the beauty of a father’s love through a mother’s eyes.

What a wonderful and touching book! This book is written from a mother's perspective, talking to her husband about their child. It is a perfect Father's Day gift. I purchased for my husband last Father's Day he loves reading it to our son and our son loves hearing it. It's definitely a favorite for all of us! I highly recommend this book. Truly no reason not to like this book or the author.

Anyone notice the people giving this a one star didn’t buy the book? It’s amazing, buy it if you are able to understand complicated concepts and teach your children. Don’t if you have no interest in critical thinking… I’m sure Spider-Man has a book or two…

This book is painful to read. My child who is almost always interested in any book we read. She was clearly not impressed, she asked questions about some of the illustrations. The benches were the most interesting part. It’s not worth your time or money.

I enjoyed the poem and I thought the author did a wonderful job expressing her love for her spouse and child. The book is beautifully illustrated, showing different kinds of families and races. I was a great example to spark conversations with my children about love. I would buy this for my family and friends who have kids

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews? Are they based on the book or the author? hmmm Let's not be influenced by others and make a decision for ourselves and give the book a chance.

This book is full of beautiful illustrations. It is so vivid. Christian Robinson is excellent at what he does. The books is easy for children to follow, and follows a narrative hopefully many children can identify with.
