About The Author
Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Though Stan died in 2005, Jan and Mike continue to create the delightful Bear adventures from their family home in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.

Please be aware that this is the “Living Lights/A Faith Story” version of Berenstain Bears, which is dramatically different than the stories his parents (Stan and Jan) used to write. My 3-year-old loves the classic Berenstain Bears books and was so excited to get this book. I did not realize I was going to have to read “So he ordered Jesus to be put to death by hanging on a wooden cross”. I understand wanting to tell the biblical story, but was not quite prepared for how literal this story was. If you were expecting the normal hijinks of Brother and Sister Bear - this is NOT THAT STORY.
