Description

About the Book

Rymer Strauss and his dad were looking for kids's books that teach about business, but they couldn't find any. There were surprised when they couldn't find books that teach kids what it's like to be an entrepreneur. The truth is, there just aren't many books that teach young people how to start their own business or how to think about money.

So Rymer decided to write one, and that's where "The Big Money Squeeze" started. He believes other kids deserve to learn how to take charge of achieving their own goals and to be inspired to start businesses. He doesn't think you have to be in college or even high school to learn how to manage money. Kids in elementary school can start thinking about these things too.

Rymer is a go-getter in real life. After successfully building nearly every Lego set ever created, he recently took on the task of building the Death Star. Amazingly, it is still in one piece despite his little sister, his brothers, and all his friends who like to play with it!

Book Synopsis

From the Back Cover

Rymer and his friends have a gigantic goal, but can they figure out how to reach it before summer is over?

Rymer, Ash, Nia, and Ollie are the very best of friends. They do everything together, and their favorite place to hang out is the treehouse that they built using ingenuity, patience, and a whole lot of LEGOS.

But something is keeping it from being the ultimate, best treehouse in the whole world. They need a TV and gaming system! After all, if they were able to build this massive treehouse, surely they can find a way to finish the job. But how? They brainstorm together and figure out exactly how much money they need to achieve this big, crazy goal of theirs. Of course, it all comes down to money. Lots and lots of it.

They are just fourth graders though, so what can they do to make that kind of cash? Together they brainstorm and come up with some wild ideas to make money, which they try with little success. Then they have the perfect idea -- a lemonade stand! Join Rymer and his friends as they learn about what it means to start a business, to budget, and to think like a true entrepreneur. There are plenty of ups and downs, but in the end, they learn lessons that they will use the rest of their lives.
