Don't know if the lights actually work because I don't have any button cell batteries on hand but even if it doesn't, it is still cute and looks great just as a runner. Bummed because price dropped $7 from time I ordered it until I received it, less than 14 days.

Had trouble at first figuring out how to get to battery compartment, but once that was complete and I found the button where you turn it on. It’s super cute. Just press button for lights on then press to turn off.
