Book Synopsis

When 38-year-old Beth opens the letter she wrote to her future self when she was 17, it provides a clue for tracking down the father of her child in this uplifting, funny and intelligent novel about the many versions of ourselves we could become.

Beth has always found comfort in her quiet life. She loves her job as a palliative care nurse and raising her teenage daughter, Maisie. But her world is turned upside down at her high school reunion when she opens a time capsule from her teenage years.

Inside, Beth uncovers a letter from her seventeen-year-old self, a girl bursting with dreams - and blissfully unaware of the curveballs life would soon throw her way, including the unplanned pregnancy that would change everything.

What's more, the letter contains a clue that could alter everything Beth thought she knew about her past - and her future.

Now Beth is hit hard by the difference between the life she hoped for and the one she's living. Suddenly, she's faced with a choice: chase the adventures she once dreamed of, or embrace the new opportunities life presents?
