About the Book
Haunted by terrifying nightmares and a mysterious prophecy, a young man embarks on a 3,000-mile trek through the African bush. This is a ghost story-start reading, and you'll never look at Africa the same again.Book Synopsis
Haunted by terrifying nightmares and a mysterious prophecy, a young man embarks on a 3,000-mile trek through the African bush. From Victoria Falls at night during a lunar rainbow to the great African savanna stampeding with wildebeest to the evocative Serengeti with Mt. Kilimanjaro rising with the dawn, The Light Behind Blue Circles captures some of Africa's most iconic scenery. This is a ghost story--it's about that rumble in your stomach when adrenaline surges. It's that feeling you get when you stand in the dark and hear an animal growling from only feet away, or sense there's someone else in a gloomy room. Although this fictional story has characters that are Maasai, it's not about their culture as much as a web that several Maasai and a Seer get drawn into, along with several travelers. Start reading, and you'll never look at Africa the same again.
Review Quotes
After reading this book for the second time, it was even more enjoyable. The visualization of the surroundings is impeccable, you feel as if you are in the novel. From the full moon at Victoria Falls to the charge of a bull Elephant, you become immersed in the story. The characters cover the gamut as in any good novel; you have the villain, the friends and the goofball who is "as loyal as a dog". From Botswana South Africa to Nairobi in the North Peter continues to be haunted by nightmares of a horrific and tragic moment from his youth while he searches for the meaning of the nightmares he befriends the people he meets on his way. Teachers come in all forms; this novel is full of them even if they are not apparent at the time. The story is both mystical and full of incidents of danger where friendships save lives! There is no doubt I will read this again when I am in the need of traveling even if only in my mind! Great read, great story content and characters!
