Book Synopsis

Amidst the irradiated plains walks a legend who is more than man . . . BEWARE THE MAN FROM MAYBE!

In the dry and dead future that's coming soon, all life belongs to Oppenheimer-obsessed billionaire Harvard Denny and his corporate scavengers from Smile, Inc., who pillage the wastelands in search of atomic contraband. But when a hyper-advanced vessel of possibly alien origin crash lands on the outer edge of Denny's empire of neon-lit ruins, will it bring promise or poison to a distorted world?

As the race to acquire the ship's cargo begins, our fate will be decided by a masked bandit and the cold iron of his laser rifle. He knows no name, no home, no surrender--only the whispered hush of those in need who dare call him . . . THE MAN FROM MAYBE!

Give yourself over to an upside-down world where all mutants eat lead and all dinosaurs speak truth in the postapocalyptic epic of Western-infused action from rising star Jordan Thomas (Weird Work, XINO) and psychedelic warlord Shaky Kane (Bulletproof Coffin, The Beef)!

Review Quotes

"This series is a very successful blend of westerns and dystopian sf, with clear good versus evil at its core."-- "Booklist"

"I doubt I will read anything else this year quite like this series. Part western, part science fiction, part dystopian future all done in the unique style of Shaky Kane. It reminds me of something I would watch on the old Liquid TV series. A story that pushes away from convention and looks to carve its own path."-- "Nerd Initiative"

"...a wild blend of post-apocalyptic fiction, sci-fi, and Westerns"-- "Comicbook.com"

"a singular and scintillating saga of the wasteland" -- "CBR"

"[The Man from Maybe] whisks you away to an upside-down world where mutants reign and atomic contraband is the most valuable thing in existence [...] sure to hook readers who are looking for something new and exciting"-- "Capes and Tights"

"A psychedelic post-apocalyptic combination of genres that is out of this world."

-- "SCREENRANT"

About the Author

Jordan Thomas hails from the South of England but is currently living in Valencia, Spain. His first published comics work was the 1920s postwar, farm-based horror series Frank At Home On The Farm. Since then he has written a sci-fi western, The Man From Maybe, for Oni Press, and the alien world crime story Weird Work at Image Comics. He likes dogs, swimming, and swimming with dogs.

Inspired by the DIY ethic of the early punk movement, Shaky Kane contributed to the burgeoning small press scene before finding a regular spot drawing for British music paper The NME. Shaky's work found a home in a whole host of popular British comic strip publications during the late 1980s to the early 1990s, including Deadline, Revolver, Judge Dredd the Megazine, and 2000 AD. Returning to comics in 2010, Shaky collaborated with writer David Hine on the highly acclaimed Bulletproof Coffin series for Image Comics. True to his early artistic inspirations, Shaky continues drawing for independent publication to this day, and is regularly published on both sides of the Atlantic. Collaborating with up-and-coming writer Jordan Thomas, Shaky's current work includes Weird Work published through Image Comics and The Man From Maybe from Oni Press.
