The Oregon Trail Game

The Oregon Trail Game - image 1 of 3

About this item

  • The beloved classic computer game goes lo-fi in this survival card game
  • Fantastic 8-bit art lets you die of gruesome diseases in a retro way
  • Cooperative gameplay with a fun, cheeky humor allows even dysentery to be funny
  • Can your wagon party work together to survive the Trail?
  • For 2-6 players, ages 12 and up
All sorts of gruesome deaths await you and the rest of your wagon party in this official multi-player card game version of the classic computer game. To win, you'll need to keep one player alive all the way from Independence, MO to the Willamette Valley. But between rattlesnakes, starvation, dead oxen, broken bones, dysentery, and a host of the other calamities, the odds are long...almost as long as the Oregon Trail itself. Players work together to move along the trail, fording rivers and playing Supply Cards to overcome calamities. But be warned - there will be times when it makes sense to let one of your wagon mates succumb to a calamity rather than expend precious supplies. Every time players go the way of all flesh, you'll flip over the roster card and write their names on tombstones (don't forget to include a quick epitaph). It's a great way to relive your fond memories of one of the world's most beloved computer games and to kill off your family and friends at the same time. For 2-6 players, ages 12 and up.

Agreed, impossible for two people to play successfully. More successful with 4+ players. We modified from 10 stacks to 5 for two players. A few unanswered rules but an amicable group can come up with good solutions. Best with an adult beverage in hand.

I own a T-shirt with a picture of a team of oxen pulling a wagon from the original computer game that reads "You have died of dysentery." I even wore the shirt on my first time playing the Oregon Trail card game. It did not prepare me for the slaughter. It did not shield me from the heartbreak of th...see moreof the reviewer's review

I played the computer game as a kid in the 90'sso I had to purchase this. I have actually bought 2 more of this game as gifts for avid board gamers. The rules are a bit unclear in certain cases but it is quite easy to decide on your own rules if you've played board games before. I would recommend th...see moreof the reviewer's review

I just got this game and my family and I played during our monthly game night. We had tons of fun (especially when it came to writing our epitaphs). My only complaint is that some of the instructions are a bit ambiguous, so you'll need to make up a few house rules as you go. The other reviewers are ...see moreof the reviewer's review

Love the design. Bought for the nostalgia. Hate the game.

So the idea of this game is good. It has potential to be good if you make up your own special rules. But the base game is broken. It is impossible for 2 people to win so don't bother. Even with lots of players, if anyone dies towards the beginning, they get to sit and be bored while they have to wat...see moreof the reviewer's review

I just recently bought this game and was looking forward to seeing how it would work. We played with the max amount of people and ended up winning. However, the game leaves you with tons of questions regarding the rules. And there are so many cards that just cause anyone to die immediately. This was...see moreof the reviewer's review

Nearly impossible for 2 people to play. Lots of questions left unanswered in the rules. The nostalgia is cool but the game wasn't thought out well.
