Rosa Petersheim's disappearance was first introduced in The Protector, and it's still an issue in The Peacemaker. Her family and friends don't know what happened to their beloved Rosa. Did she leave voluntarily, or was she taken against her will? Is she still alive? If so, why hasn't she made her presence known? So much grief and pain have been experienced in the past year, and no one has suffered more than Ada Detwiler, Rosa's best friend, and Ephraim Peight, Rosa's boyfriend. Author Wanda E. Brunstetter poignantly describes their feelings and the uncertainty of the entire Amish community but hope and trust have never been lost. Isn't this a true representation of the Amish faith? This is a must-read for fans of Amish fiction, and mystery lovers will love the unanswered questions about Rosa. The Peacemaker is a wonderful addition to the Mifflin County Mystery series, and Brunstetter shows why she is known as "Amish Country's Most Beloved Storyteller"! I received a copy from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.

I was anticipating the release of this second book in Wanda Brunstetter's Mifflin County Mystery series and was not disappointed. With Rosa still missing, this story features her best friend Ada and ex-boyfriend Ephraim. While everyone is still left wondering about Rosa, they are starting to move forward with their lives. When Ephraim is brought back to the area, Ada realizes that she feels more than friendship for him, but is there a chance for a relationship and a future for the two together? While Norman finds a satisfying relationship with his girlfriend, younger sister Susan opts for a path that brings her the excitement she feels she is missing, but at what expense? When false accusations fly, lessons are learned, and relationships are both built and ended. A power story about relationships, having trust, and the faith that can bring everything to rights. I was gifted a copy of this book and opted to share a review. All opinions are my own.

This is book two in the Mifflin County Mystery series and I’m sad to say I missed book one. This story picks up right after book one but I was able to glean enough information from this story to summarize what happened in book one. Now I’m on pins and needles to find out the solution to what happened to Rosa. I loved the characters in this story and they pulled on my heartstrings with all the false accusations, consequences of rebellion, and self doubt. This story has mystery, budding romance, a little suspense, health issues, and a deep faith element. The whole ball of wax so to speak. I especially loved the characters of Sarah and Josiah that shows you are never too old to open your heart to what God has in store for you. I must say this is Ms. Brunstetter at her finest in my opinion. I highly recommend. I received a complimentary copy from Barbour Publishing. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

Her best friend suddenly disappears. Her boyfriend Ephraim is thought to be a suspect by some of the townspeople. It is a clean novel and a cozy mystery. The characters are very likeable and I enjoyed reading about Ada and Ephraim as they become closer. She likes him and doesn't know where their relationship is headed because of this disappearance. Will his feelings be reciprocated or is his mind and heart still with his missing girlfriend? It's a good book and I enjoy this author's books and try to read them all. I received an arc copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
