About the Author
William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) is widely regarded as one of the greatest poets of the 20th century. He was born in Dublin and studied painting before mastering the art of poetry and becoming a major playwright. He was one of the founders of the famous Abbey Theatre and was acquainted with contemporaries such as George Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde.
