About the Book
Twin stories of two men who run from God straight into a deadly storm - and learn that no one is beyond the reach of Amazing Grace.
A slave-trading, blaspheming John Newton runs from God until the Hound of Heaven catches him in a violent storm off the coast of Ireland in 1748. As the storm threatens to sink the ship and the captain threatens to toss Newton overboard for being a "Jonah," Newton's mind races back to his early childhood faith, forcing him to ask, "What if it's true?"
The Order of the Seven team is assigned the mission of intervening in the life of John Newton as he slowly makes his way back to God and eventually pens the most beloved hymn of all time: Amazing Grace. The animal team revisits their previous mission of helping another man who also ran from God and whose faith was also born in a storm: Jonah. Abounding in lessons of failure and redemption, this action-packed book will lead readers from despair to hope and to a clear understanding of why grace is so amazing indeed.

Review Quotes
"Jenny is a skilled wordsmith with a love for truth. Her ability to bring things to life in technicolor testifies to her understanding of both human nature and the Word of God."
Pastor Jack and Lisa Hibbs
This is a very well-written story behind "Amazing Grace", which comes alive at the turn of each page. Jenny has a way of unpacking the scripture verses she used in the book to have a deeper understanding of God. I saw how God used two men from completely separate times, John Newton and Jonah, to show the consistent character of God--bringing light into darkness with the redemption of God's love, mercy, and forgiveness. The book is hard to put down once you begin reading. God is surely using Jenny to tell the history of the slave trader that has long been forgotten, but still an amazing story of the redemptive power of God.

When I was younger, I would have my dad sing "Amazing Grace" to me almost every night. To read the redemptive story behind the hymn was a wonderful experience. It also reminded me that when we hit rock-bottom, God is the rock at the bottom.
