Thomas & Friends Push‑Along Track Set – Gordon in the Old Mines with Metal Gordon Engine, Push‑Along Playset for Kids 3 Years & Up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love this set! It was quick and easy to assemble, and joined with their other Thomas and Friends sets. It kept them busy for hours. The only issue we had was it seemed to come apart every time someone bumped it. It could have been an issue with just this one but something to look for.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this train track has held. My kids interest on a daily basis for a half hour at a time! He loves it! He rearranges the track, and uses his random toys to slide along it. In addition to the one that’s provided! I love it :-) so does he lol.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The train tracks are thick durable plastic that will hold up to multiple plays. It allows for a child to play in various ways and build their own track and continue to play for a sustained amount of time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] thomas the train has always been a huge hit with both my son and daughter.. the train track is very sturdy and so is the thomas train itself. the vibrant colors are always an attention grabber and we love that it easily breaks down to store if necessary

It attaches to the other sets he has so he can either us it alone or combine it with other ones to make a bigger set. Gordon is an adorable little train too. Overall my son really enjoys it and loves to play with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Thomas the train track to give my honest opinion. Immediately the child loves this it's a great track. It has compatible trains and cranes that you can use with this. Easy to set up and easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first my son did not want anything to do with this train set 🤭. This is his first train set now that I think about it. I thought why not get him some trains, they're just like cars right? Well, since my son didn't want it, my daughter asked for it. Low and behold, who's having the time of his little life putting the tracks together and using his imagination. Now, I might have to get the other sets so he can connect them all together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is really a nice set for any child. Either just starting out with Thomas the train or adding on to their collection. This comes the the track and train and extras to keep a childs interest going and going. We have a few different ones and 3 boys and they all love playing with them. They will play separately and sometimes they connect the tracks and play together. But that usually ends up as demolition train game. Lol but its fun for them and the trains hold up.

They love this set especially because of the bridge, they are able to combine other sets with this one and create so many different configurations for the trains so it’s endless fun and possibilities for them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband couldn’t wait to put this together for my granddaughter. It’s a good toy for the imagination. It’s a self propelled toy were you have to move it along on the track. I feel this trainset is good for a child for ages 2 1/2-5 years of age. Everyone loves Thomas the Train.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Thomas & Friends Gordon in the Old Mines toy is a great toddler age toy. The track is multi-colored and though it comes with a chart to assemble, it was slightly tricky to figure out. Once together, however, our child took it apart and reconfigured it to his own design. It's a great push-along toy. The train engine is not motorized but our child didn't mind at all. It's got colorful design and it sails smoothly on the track. The lead engine car is weighted heavier than the two cargo cars but they are all lightweight but durable. It's been pushed, thrown and tossed into a toybox and has not had a single piece break off or get damaged. The cars link together easily with little child friendly loops - our child is able to connect them independently. One car comes equipped with a plastic jewel that is removable so your child can load the car with anything that will fit. It can be taken apart and reassembled easily at the end of the day.

Up and down the hills. Pretty easy to take apart. Will be a nice toy to travel with. Not too many pieces, should fit in a large ziploc.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thomas is actually bigger than I thought in this Thomas and Friends Gordon in the Old Mines. These were only a few pieces to put together and took less than 10 minutes. Thomas train and the cargo are durable, but the tracks feel cheap and fragile. It's a manual play track that kids need to move Thomas on the track up the hill, then release to go down the hill, which makes kids bored after a few rounds. My kids lost interest. It could entertain and attract more people if it runs automatically on batteries.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is well built, withstands my 3 year old, and she loved it. It he’d her attention very well. My old ones were intrigued by it as well. It is sturdy, easy to mount together and easy to connect to the other set that we got.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gordon in the Old Mines set is a fun and engaging set for our 4- and 6-year-old daughters! The bumps and hills make for even more fun and imaginative play. The one car does not match the picture on the front of the box (see photo) but that doesn’t bother the kids any. The engine is a nice sturdy metal. However, I am a little concerned that the plastic connections for the tracks may break over time (see photo). I guess I may be a little nostalgic to the old wooden tracks but our children love it!

In addition to the durable plastic track pieces, there is a mine entrance piece, a hill piece and a billboard piece. The Gordon engine has an interesting face and his tender with #4 is included. In addition, there is a hopper type car that holds the special purple gem from the mine. On the box, that car was supposed to be flat and probably had a knob that would hold the gem (the gem has a connection part on the bottom). There is no connection piece inside the hopper car. The hopper car also seems a little larger than the Gordon engine and tender. My 3 1/2 year old grandson LOVED the hopper car and the jewel. He enjoys connecting extra pieces like that to his trains. He put his motorized train on the track and it worked well. The fact that there was a hill portion is what he enjoyed the most. He was able to help put the track together. Once he played with the very simple oval track, we did connect it to another set that we had. Personally, I felt that that made this set more interesting. This particular set does not include a switch track, but luckily the other set had two. Also, the billboard has a picture of Thomas in the mine, which I didn’t understand. Maybe changing that to a Keep Out Sign or Danger sign would make more sense. It didn’t bother my grandson - just me!

The plus side though, he was able to put most of it together himself! The only difficult part was connecting the train because it's on a slight angle however once connected it does stay together! The problem with this set though is we wish the train was motorized. It doesn't keep my sons interest for very long and lacked the cool features we hoped it would have like hills or tunnels. That would at least make it a little more intriguing. It does work very well on both the carpet and hard wood floors though. It might be better for younger children to be honest. My son turns 4 in September.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My pre-ker absolutely loves this toy. It was incredibly easy to assemble and disassemble. I like how early the sticker decal applied. It promotes lots a creativity, with my little coming up with tons of stories using the set. And this set works perfectly with others from the same line. I love how they all work perfectly together

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This track is super cute and fun. My 5 year old son loved the colors and he had hours of fun guiding Gordon along the track with his hands. Besides Gordon the set came with two wagons and he liked that a lot because he loves to hook and unhook them. The ups and downs of the track add fun and excitement to the play time. The sign can be placed facing out or in of the track, my son had a lot of fun moving it around. The size is perfect, children can use it freely without having to occupy the entire living room. The quality, as always, is excellent, the instructions are very clear and although the help of an adult is suggested, children can have fun putting together the track and since the tracks are compatible with others in the same line, adding it to other sets to have even more fun. At home we love Thomas, so we loved this set and we recommend it for one or more children as well as to play with the whole family.
