Thread the Bone by M.R. Pritchard demands your full attention. From the complex world building to the characters, your attention cannot wander for long or you will get lost. But keeping your attention won't be difficult; this book is rich in imagery and vibrant mythology. The story is definitely a bit slow, but enjoy taking your time. The story needs to settle, to age, to solidify into another layer of precious stone, like those in the tower (IYKYK), before it becomes precious.

Let me start by confessing I sometimes choose books because of the cover! So.... yes, this cover caught my attention and then the overview sucked me in a little further. Which now I am pleased to say that the story lived up to the cover's hype!

The curiosity surrounding time and creation is always debatable but also very intriguing. Friendship and love are the strongest bonds we know.... some may even call them "threads" of life!

Thread the Bone definitely has a plot that requires your full attention or you may initially find yourself confused (a little). Especially if you are like myself and tend to try to "figure it out" the whole time you're reading! But if you stick with it, it all comes together.... rather well I must say. I found the characters, places/lands, and the plot interesting... a nice foundation, if the author decided to create a series (fingers crossed).

I think if there would have been more detail surrounding the Creator and maybe a little more history in relation to the Creator and the old Gods, I may have been able to give it 5 stars. Regardless, I did enjoy this book enough to give it a well deserved 4 stars!!!. -ARC Reviewer

Thread the Bone was such a great read. I really enjoyed how Pritchard was able to weave the story between the past and present and then crash it all together for an epic ending. The four female main characters were written so differently, and I really enjoyed how their differences became their strengths in the end. You could feel Cara's loneliness and Noomii's feeling of freedom. It was what each needed to develop into women who could save their world.

Through Pritchard's world-building, I was able to envision the Land of Man and all the creatures and beings within that world. I loved the small nods to our understanding of the world and how the Land of Man was laid out and developed over time. One of my favorites places was Highrock. I also enjoyed the poems at the beginning of the chapters.

The characters seemed so separated from one another through out most of the book, and I was shocked to see how they culminated in the end. I could not anticipate where the story was going to go. I really appreciate a plot which I don't see coming. Overall, a really awesome read which I highly recommend! -ARC Reviewer
