Book Synopsis
A dark secret, a terrible prophecy, and a dangerous bargain.
An unsettling energy has settled over the city of Johnstown. When the darkling's behavior suddenly changes and immortal families start disappearing from their homes-Cassie and Damien are called to a meeting with The Council of the Kyrios, to discuss how they intend to bring an end to Melantha and her darkling brood. The time comes for Cassie to make her appearance known, rising to the role of queen of the immortals at Damien's side.
Cassie battles with the inner turmoil left in the wake of Marcus' torment and Cole's betrayal. When she uncovers the truth, she's left questioning everything, and the dark secret she's guarded her entire life threatens to be revealed.
Damien works to expand the warriors of The Order to face the looming threat of the countless darklings building in the shadows while searching for a means of saving Cassie from the fate Selene warned them of. Instead of finding answers, he stumbles upon a terrible prophecy.
Foe becomes friend, friend becomes foe, and Cassie and Damien are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered reality.

This book was a masterpiece. I absolutely cannot believe the emotional roller coaster Luna took me on for this book. I cried at least 7 times and I hardly cry in books. There are still so many questions I have and I cannot wait for the next book.

This was an explosive sequel to Of Shadow and Moonlight. Crushing losses and twists. This book HURT, but in the way that good books hurt you because you truly feel for the characters. The found family in this is beautiful and I appreciate her unique story arch that is leading you further down the story. There are so many unanswered questions left that I cannot wait for the next book. Do yourself a favor, start this series, read this book, it is an incredible ride and you will not regret it!

To say this story was exquisitely and intricately weaved, would be an understatement. This was absolutely extraordinary and astounding, To Ashes and Dust propels readers back into Cas and Damien's story right from the beginning.
The details, characters and storyline are all riveting. To Ashes and Dust expands so much further into the Shadow and Moonlight world and brings more high fantasy with it. We are given greater insight into the political side, power structures, gods, monsters and character back stories. The plot line has such depth, it was nearly impossible to stop reading.
Just when I thought I couldn't be put through any more emotional damage in this book, I was wrong. If I thought Of Shadow and Moonlight was a roller coaster, then To Ashes and Dust was like being swept into a river. And I loved every minute of it.
I was at a complete loss for words when I finished. You can certainly tell how much care, confidence and labor was put into this literary piece. I cannot wait to see what more this series will bring.

All I can say is WOW! This book had me on an emotional roller coaster! It is full of laughter, suspense, SPICEEEE (I give it a 3.5 out of 5 on the spice scale!). I also cried, ugly cried that is, several times over the course of reading this. This was my most anticipated read of the year, AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Luna is a PHENOMENAL author! With so many authors, you can understand what emotions they are wanting you to feel in their writing, but Luna has a way of literally making the emotions of the book float off of the page and literally down into your soul. I can feel everything that she poured into this book while I'm reading it, and it amazes me. If you have not read the first in the series, Of Shadow and Moonlight, you need to do so before this sequel comes out!!! Make sure you have tissues, you're going to need them!! 5 stars!!! Best series I have read in a long time!
