You can't beat the price. Easy to set up, light weight, and lights up the room decently, though it is a little flimsy and feels cheap. My only complaint is that I've had to exchange several because, when setting them up, I've found some defects, like it doesn't stand straight, or part of it doesn't ...see moreof the reviewer's review

i bought 2 of these lamps from target.com back in 2001 along with 4 other table top lamps that were on a super low sale. they have moved to 3 cities with me and are still going strong. i have had none of the problems that others have had. i recommend it.

Nice lamp. Does the job. I didn't know until I picked it up that it should be used with a three way bulb.

I don't think you could ask more for $10. The base is solid, and you don't need any tools to put together. If you can tell the difference between clockwise and counterclockwise, it ends up sturdy if you tighten the bars. I'm not sure what trouble other people had.see moreof the reviewer's review

Went from a 3-way lamp to a 1-way lamp after using it four times

The 3-way socket is manufactured too cheaply. After a couple of uses, the lamp would light up on only one of the three positions. A replacement 3-way socket is at least $7.00. Someone else mentioned that it tends to lean somewhat. I'll attest to that. Please spend a little more money for a better la...see moreof the reviewer's review

The minimum-possibly adequate floor lamp

It doesn't quite stand up straight, and it sort of screams chintzy and cheap; it gives every impression it's about to fall apart. The knob is, inconveniently, at the top by the light shade and not in the middle. But... I paid a smidge over five dollars for it. Yes, it's a somewhat terrible lamp.....see moreof the reviewer's review

You get what you pay for here. I've had three lamps in this style and all three have had the same defect. They quickly become the leaning lamps. The current one is duct taped to the back of a shelf to keep it upright. I won't make this mistake again; next time, I'll drop more money for a better lamp...see moreof the reviewer's review

Cheap black torch lamp

This lamp will not stand up straight. The pole connections don't tighten and the pole leans. The pole is thin and pretty easy to miss visually-if it is too close, it's pretty easy to knock it. When that happens, the shade, which merely sits on top unsecured, swings around the bulb, which must hav...see moreof the reviewer's review
