Many guests appreciate its lightweight nature and decent canopy size, making it suitable for light rain. Big and heavy
I have a few old Totes travel umbrellas that are still functional but getting threadbare from age and need replacing. This is nothing like them. The old ones weigh about 6 ox and this weighs 11 oz. Wish they made something actually mini still.

Wrong essembly
Almost everything perfect, except the clip holding the umbrella cover to the rod. The latch is incorrectly manufactored/installed, so the umbrella will seperate from the rod as you try to open it. Even a strong gust of wind can cause your umbrella to fly away. Life time warrenty, but you have to pay half its cost in shipment fees.

Bad quality
One end of the umbrella broke off before I got to even use it. Horrible quality from TOTES.

I got this umbrella for my son, and he loves that it’s plain black and compact. It looks well-made and sturdy.

Only for very light use
I needed an umbrella because I help outside with children. It was not helpful at all. The wind bends the metal very easily. It kept opening backwards. Poorly made.

This is exactly as I ordered. I tested the opening and closing feature and found it worked well. It seems very sturdy and has 9 ribs instead of the usual 8. There were so many umbrellas out there that I searched for an independent source and found that it got great reviews from the New York Times "Wirecutter". It seems very sturdy and will provide ample coverage. I will update my review once I have more information on its performance in rainy weather and if it's long-lasting. The compact manual I had lasted for a very long time, so I hope this one does the same. If not, I did register it for the lifetime warranty.

Broke right away
The umbrella is really flimsy and cheaply made. The canopy material is thin, the part you have to push up on to open is right on the sharp metal ribs, and to top it all off the top of the telescoping body came completely off on the second use. Spend a little more money on a better umbrella.

Just what we needed
It’s a Totes umbrella- you can’t go wrong! Took it on a recent trip overseas. Only used it 2 days of our trip, but it’s still intact and hopefully has many more days of life remaining!

Umbrella broke during 15 MPH winds. Didn’t even last a minute. The top ripped off the pole, the pole was bent.

I’ve used this umbrella around 5 times in college. The first time I used it, one of the rods broke and it has been floppy ever since. Not only this, but the umbrella is rusting on the inside. It is also a trouble to carry around because it does not dry quickly and there is no bag attached to it to put it in.
