This is exactly as I ordered. I tested the opening and closing feature and found it worked well. It seems very sturdy and has 9 ribs instead of the usual 8. There were so many umbrellas out there that I searched for an independent source and found that it got great reviews from the New York Times "Wirecutter". It seems very sturdy and will provide ample coverage. I will update my review once I have more information on its performance in rainy weather and if it's long-lasting. The compact manual I had lasted for a very long time, so I hope this one does the same. If not, I did register it for the lifetime warranty.

The umbrella is really flimsy and cheaply made. The canopy material is thin, the part you have to push up on to open is right on the sharp metal ribs, and to top it all off the top of the telescoping body came completely off on the second use. Spend a little more money on a better umbrella.

I’ve used this umbrella around 5 times in college. The first time I used it, one of the rods broke and it has been floppy ever since. Not only this, but the umbrella is rusting on the inside. It is also a trouble to carry around because it does not dry quickly and there is no bag attached to it to put it in.

This Totes Super Mini compact umbrella has the canopy/arc size of 43 inches. My other compact one that folded to about the same length has a canopy size of 40 inches. Given that a typical (non-compact) personal umbrella has a canopy size of 42 inches, the slightly larger canopy size of this umbrela is a pleasant surprise.
