Philip J. Fry is Captain Yesterday: a 30-something Slurm-addicted 31st century package-delivering boy turned super-hero. As the story goes, Fry and Leela are mugged within an inch of their lives. Through synchronicity and dumb luck, a supercollider explodes and the Miracle Cream they use to soothe their discomfort temporarily transforms their weaknesses into superpowers.
