A: Hi! All TP-Link Deco Mesh Wi-Fi System models are inter-compatible. You can expand your existing Deco Mesh network using the same model, or other Deco Mesh models, depending on your networking preferences and needs. If you plan to primarily use the Wi-Fi backhaul when deploying your Deco nodes, you can have up to 10 Deco nodes within a Deco Mesh network. More than 10 nodes in a single Deco Mesh network is possible if using the Ethernet Backhaul.

While you can technically choose to use your existing AC1750 router as your primary router, this would typically require you to configure the Deco in Access Point Mode, which will disable the Deco's routing features. However, if you want to simplify your network and have Mesh Wi-Fi coverage, we suggest configuring the Deco as your primary router.

A: Hi! Absolutely - as long as the Ethernet cable length is no greater than 100 meters / 328 feet (maximum length for reliable data transmission over Ethernet cable).

Q: satelite internet - window router gets signal from antennas on router. Would I connect one TP-Link to the router and then place the other two strategically to establish my coverage area? Do the other two just require electrical plug to be online?

A: Hi! Yes, just one Deco unit needs to be connected to your existing network (e.g. to your router) via Ethernet. The remaining satellite units can be placed throughout your home, plugged into a power source, and will then connect to the Deco network via Mesh WiFi. This process is convenient and intuitively achieved via the Deco app on your smartphone.

Requires sketchy app to setup, ip6 doesn't work. There's no reason to require an app, account, and all this stuff to setup some wifi in my house. I shouldn't need an internet connection to make my internet connection work. Overall pretty slow compared to other mesh systems I've used. IP6 doesn't work with spectrum out of the box (which it does on my laptop somehow.)

Works great and don’t need a WiFi extender but product doesn’t last long. Plus couldn’t hook up phone due to lack of phone jack outlets in router. Had 7 months then died.

We had a generator installed and it came with wifi so we could monitor it while away. Our wifi extender wasn't getting it to the outside wall (we have a brick house). Bought another extender - same. Read about the mesh systems so I bought this one. It works. Now the generator has about a 55-60% wirelss (better than 0%). Hopefully it will last a long time.

For half a year it worked like a dream, until it didn't. Suddenly there were problems every other day until it refused to connect with my ISP. Was with support for half a week trying to resolve it and they refused to send a replacement. Got it working just well enough but I've encountered so many drop off since then. I thought the price and reviews justified the purchase, honestly had much better with cheaper models. Half a year after the support incident, it is once again refusing to connect and even when it did, would constantly drop connection at random. Do yourself a favor and find a better and cheaper option. It is NOT worth the hassle!

Had wifi issues for so long as the router was in the basement, bought this and it works so much better now. I haven’t had an issue with it since. Would definitely recommend as it saves you from having to upgrade your wifi.

This router is just amazing.I got my home setup with Apple HomeKit and I got over 25 devices connected and there is zero issues with the wifi. This can handle up to 100!!!!!! Devices. This three wifi tower created a wifi mesh so the devices will connected to the closest tower for better performance. I got it running 2.4 and 5ghz both under the same wifi name and password and I have zero problem. You are not going to find anything like this on this price range.

I purchased this item based on the majority of positive reviews and how 'easy' it was to install. The step by step process is well explained, but should you run into a problem (as I did) there is no number. The live chat will consume you for at least an hour and be prepared to give details on absolutely all of your equipment. I have a general knowledge but this was just too much of a headache.

When I actually could get through to the step of creating a network, it would not allow me to connect to the network after setup. Waste of HOURS of time. Very frustrating and NOT a simple setup.

It was a very easy set up, and I like the parental controls and ease of use with the app. I don’t feel the 5,500 coverage is at all accurate. Disappointed with the range and do wish I would have spent a little more on one that would extend my internet outside to my garage which is maybe 30 feet from my house, about 50 feet from the main deco, I even put one closer to the back of the house closest to the garage and still very very weak signal. Great for inside only.

Working nicely up to about 2 hours ago. Then they all died . Tried unplugging then plugging in again. They would glow yellow, then white, then red , then black. Repeated 4 times. Nothing. The app was useless because the one connected to the modem could not stay on long enough to run a diagnostic with the app . Very sad about this. I actually had really good wifi from 11/28 through 12/13 . Luckily, I still have my Motorola gateway which is horrible to begin with. I hope I can get my money back . Probably just buy netgear mesh to go with my netgear modem.

Bought this during the Black Friday sale and very easy to set up. I was using an old linksys router and this vastly improved my network. Speeds tripled due to having N600 rougher instead of this Ac1200
