Q: Do you need a current wifi connection to use this product? is it an actual modem/ router or just an extender

submitted by Capecoddad - 4 months ago
  • A: Hi Capecoddad, The TP-Link Archer AX4400 is designed to connect to your existing Internet source (e.g., modem, ONT, gateway) via an Ethernet cable. Once connected and set up, the router will provide reliable, fast Wi-Fi 6 connectivity for your home.

Q: Will this router cover a 3300 sq. ft. home and back yard?

submitted by Sue - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi! WiFi coverage will depend on numerous variables including, but not limited to: - Placement of the router (central location is typically ideal) - Physical obstructions between the router and your devices (e.g. walls, etc.) - Construction materials (e.g. plaster, brick, drywall, etc.) - Distance between the router and your devices - Which WiFi band you are connecting to (2.4GHz vs. 5GHz)

  • A: Hi, Sue! Regarding your question about the TP-Link AX4400 Mesh Dual Band 6-Stream Router: It's very difficult to predict the coverage as it will depend on the placement and interference. As routers go, this one has excellent range and is compatible with a MESH extender if you find any areas it can't reach. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact MyTGTtech at 877-698-4883 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Does this device have the option to disable WiFi password sharing

submitted by Jj - 2 months ago
  • A: While there is no way to disable the feature its also a feature that can only be shared by a owner or manager who has access to the system's interface in the Deco app. So only those authorized should be able to share the network with this feature.

Q: Hi, how does this router behave in an environment where there are several routers working on the same bands, does it give me any advantage over my current router especially 2.4 Ghz band

submitted by victor - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi victor, thanks for reaching out about TP-Link AX4400 Mesh Dual Band 6-Stream Router. You can change the channel to a less congested channel in your area. Otherwise, you can choose 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks, and the 6 antennas/streams will help with connection speeds. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.
