[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who enjoys travelling, I was genuinely excited to try out the TravelSmart by Conair Bluetooth Wireless Audio Adapter. I recently took a flight to South Dakota and thought it was the perfect opportunity to try them out on the inflight entertainment! The concept of the device is fantastic. It’s a compact, lightweight Bluetooth adapter that plugs into a headphone jack (perfect for airplane seat-back screens), allowing you to connect your bluetooth earphones and enjoy tangle free audio. It even has a handy switch to toggle between TX (transmit) and RX (receive) modes and charges via micro USB. Unfortunately, in practice, it really let me down. I tried multiple times during my flight to get it to pair with my AirPods, and no matter what I did resetting the device, making sure it was on the right mode, ensuring the AirPods were in pairing mode, reading and rereading the instructions - I just couldn’t get it to work. I managed to get the device to connect to my AirPods but still couldn’t hear anything. I even gave it another try on the flight back home, thinking maybe I’d missed a step or hadn’t given it enough time. But once again, no success. Thankfully, I brought a backup pair of wired earphones, or I wouldn’t have been able to watch any of the movies on the plane! It was disappointing because I was looking forward to having a smoother, wire-free listening experience, especially on longer flights. I really wanted to love this, and I still think it’s a great idea, but unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver for me. Maybe it works better with different Bluetooth headphones or used in another way - rather than the plane tv, but based on my experience, I can’t recommend it confidently right now.

It didn't work too well for me in terms of connectivity, however, the sound quality was better than I expected. I also enjoyed how compact it is, so it doesn't interfere too much with space on your travels. The battery also lasts quite a long time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where was this clever gadget during my last transatlantic flight?! It was about a year ago, and I wish I'd known such things existed then. I was absolutely exhausted, but for the life of me, couldn't sleep. I tried to watch some of the in-flight entertainment, but had to use those ancient dinosaur wired headphones the flight attendants hand out. Not only is the sound quality atrocious through those headphones, but the wires drive me nuts! So that's where this little guy comes in. And I do mean 'little'. It is very petite, only two inches tall--small enough to fit into pretty much any pocket. It's easy to use, too. You just plug the jack into a port on the screen in front of you, make sure the device is in TX (transmitting) mode, and pair it to your Airpods or other wireless earbuds. NO WIRES! It's those little things that make the difference between a comfortable flight or miserable experience, so I am grateful to have this little audio adapter to make my next flight a much happier one. One little complaint, though: The user manual that comes with this device is printed on the front and back of a single large piece of paper that was folded up and inserted into the product packaging. If you're on a flight the first time you use this gadget--as will be the case for a lot of people, I would assume--you'd have to unfold the whole thing to find the instructions in English and then follow them. It's awkward and unwieldy, and not something I'd want to do in the precious and limited space of my seat. I think the manufacturer could easily include a Quick Start card in English (or the language of the region where that particular unit is to be sold). That would make a big difference for first-time users, and something that could go a long way toward making them second-time users, too.

I travel a lot for work and prefer to use my Beats headphones when flying, but I don’t like having to cord attaching me to the seat. This makes it so easy to use my favorite headphones while keeping that Bluetooth capability!

They all look like those ear foams we wear with our portable cassettes back in the 90s. They sound really bad, and the static sound they carry is even louder than the movie sound. I take pride in my high-quality noise canceling headphones because of its amazing sound distribution when listening to music or movies, especially in the air. This product is must-have because now it can connect your own sound devices to the media entertainment the plane provides. You don't have to put up with those low-quality headphones again.
