This stuff is likely extremely healthy for you, but it has a major pucker factor when taken as powder in water. I take a spoon of it, put it in my mouth, then a mouthful of water (whammo!) then swallow, then chase it with something else to get that effect out of my mouth. Who would believe something made from 3 fruits could do that? But like I said, probably very healthy.

I became aware of Triphala through the Dr.Oz show...so, I knew ahead of time that the taste was bitter.... and, you only drink 8 oz of this stuff a couple of times per day... down the hatch quickly and follow up with a glass of water... the taste doesn't stay with you... if you REALLY have a hard time with "bitter", I guess I'd recommend capsules? Triphala powder is a great value... you use the same teaspoon twice in one day... I did notice a cleansing affect ....

I had been using East Indian sourced Triphala, and though it is an effective herb, the quality of 3 types of imported (direct from East India) product was very inconsistent, so I was delighted to find that a well known company like Planetary Herbs produced Triphala. Planetary Herb's Product is head and shoulders above any other form of Triphala I have used. It is very consistent and is a premium quality product at a fair price.
