I got these for my husband, an undercover Trekkie. He's not the type to talk about his obsession but he's watched every episode a few dozen times and knows mind boggling minutia if it comes up in general conversation. I served his favorite breakfast on these and he got giddy as a 5 year old riding a unicorn. We watched a TOS episode while we ate and that put him on cloud 9 for days. The dishes are pretty hefty. Please note that they are not dishwasher or microwave safe. I had to keep reminding my husband of that when he wanted to heat up his coffee. Even though they arrived securely triple boxed, one of the cups was chipped. Since it's just the two of us and we're not using them as everyday dishes, I didn't bother to get a replacement. BTW, these are the exact dishes sold by Trekkie memorabilia dealers for more than double.
