Q: what is the backing on this rug? Non slip?

A: Hi. The Unique Loom Sofia Grand Area Rug has a jute/cotton mix backing that is not non-slip. We do recommend purchasing a non-slip pad if the rug is going on a hard surface flooring.

Q: Is the hearth rug that specifically says hearth rug, is it fireproof?

A: Hi. Our rugs made of the polypropylene material, Unique Loom Sofia Grand Area Rugs, are fire retardant but not fireproof. Meaning it will slow down or stop the spread of fire or reduce its intensity.
