Unique Vintage Women's Plus Wilshire Flapper Day Dress

This dress is super cute and fits the 1920s day dress five perfectly. As others have noted the fabric is very thin and nearly sheer because of that a slip is required. The neck line is also quite low, but the slip takes care of that as well. I usually wear a 2X but I bought the 3X based on the recommendations of other reviewers. It was a good call. For reference, I am 5’7” tall and weigh 242 pounds. My chest is 49”, waist is 44”, and hips are 48”. (I believe there’s a special place in heaven for reviewers who leave that information for comparison sake.) The top fit great, but I could’ve taken in the waist and hips slightly. I didn’t bother to alter the dress though, and I was really happy with it for our event. I got a lot of compliments and it was nice to be one of the more uniquely and authentically dressed guests at a 1920s 100th birthday party.

I wore this for a 1930’s themed event. Loved the dress although, depending on the lighting was a little more sheer than I thought (skin tone bra). Generally loved it and didn’t notice the issue until just right lighting conditions (professional photography).

It is cute and I really do like it. It is made small so I have to reorder it in a bigger size. I will keep this one, though.

I have wanted a 20s day dress for decades and my wish came true with this one. It runs a bit big, but thanks to the style, doesn't look terrible larger.

It's like tissue paper! There's no structure and the fabric literally feels like organza fabric or something. I can maybe make this work with a lot happening underneath it but holy cow.

Flattering and fun. A great option for women "of a certain age" who enjoy vintage dress up. Not everyone is 25. I can't wait to wear this at a vintage car show.

I couldn't even get this dress on lol. That's how small it is. There is also no stretch in the material, which is very thin and not nearly as nice as I imagined. I would return it, but it was a final sale.

I originally ordered this in a large but it runs extremely small across the chest. I sized up to a 1X and altered the waist and hips.

I purchased the Wilshire Flapper Day Dress for a 20s theme event that I will be attending in June. On advice of other reviewers, I did also purchase slip (different website) to wear with it and am glad I did as the fabric is somewhat see thru. I love this dress and the styling is such that I can wear elsewhere as just a 'regular' dress.

This dress is more than I imagined it would be. I love it. I’ve eyed it for ages, but I wasn’t sure if it would work well on my pear shaped body. I usually steer clear of 1920’s era fashion bc it just doesn’t seem flattering for my body type, but this is made for a curvy body and IT IS PHENOMENAL! I got so many compliments while wearing it which were just sprinkles on the cake!

I purchased this as a costume for a role in a 1920's play but I think it has enough flexibility that I might be able to wear it for other things as well. Good fit (just a tad long but I am short) and very comfortable.

My work is having a 1920s themed event, and UV was the first place I came to for an outfit to wear. I was looking for a flapper dress, but the size ranges offered were too small for me. I was thrilled to find this day dress, which actually fits better for my role in the event than something sparkly. I ordered the 5x based on the measurements provided and what I was needing to accommodate my own body type. Even then I was afraid that it would be a smidge small, but it ended up being just right where I needed the extra room! I am in the process of getting it altered so the rest of the dress fits well, but I am super excited to show it off at our fundraiser next month! I would give it 5 stars, but the material is a bit thin and would have expected it to be lined for the price of the dress, which I know is plainly stated in the dress’ details. Both of these issues aren’t enough for me to return it, however, and I am planning on purchasing the dress in more colors. For someone who is normally adverse to dress-wearing, that’s a definite complement. Thank you UV for offering decade-appropriate clothing in plus sizes! It’s such a lifesaver.

I am 5'9" and typically wear a size 16. I went with the 2x and it worked well and even celebrated curves a bit (a little more form fitting than a flapper would wear but I wasn't mad at it). It was too low in the neckline, but I used the top piece of the neck tie to pin a little "modesty panel" and that worked great. Good quality and comfortable!

The dress is a little small, but really nice. You have to wear a slip with it, but that’s not to bad.

Its a little see through but beautiful. Not recommended for women with large breast.

Pay attention to and use their size charts. They are very accurate. This dress fit exactly how it looks in the advertisement. I absolutely love it! I even have the hat to match!

The tissue falls back well. She is really very pretty.

Such a great dress. I sized up and sized down, and neither fit- choose your normal size!
