Similar to scrabble but I think requires different strategies since the tiles aren't point-based in the same way as scrabble. Anyway, nice addition to our board games. Kids are 8 and 10.

Glad that you went back to black lettering on white instead of the white lettering on brown. The Lazy Susan is a great upgrade too.

Pros: the fact the letters don't slide around like a traditional scrabble board is great. Good tool for helping kids with spelling. Cons: it's a small board...I understand the manufacturing logistics would be complicated to make it bigger, but I'd like that. We play a lot of board games...and have only played this once, so the bug clearly didn't bite.

Terrible quality

KB - 2 years ago, Verified purchaser
The quality on this terrible. The pieces are thin, cheap plastic with so many manufacturing defects that many won’t sit properly on the board because of extra protrusions of plastic. My husband is literally shaving them down with a pocket knife as we play, but many still won’t stack properly. The spinning mechanism is very clunky. The pieces come in a plastic zip-lock bag intended, apparently, to be reused. This product is very cheap and not what I expect from Target.

My husband and I play a game every afternoon and are very competitive!! We've added a rule for scoring. Each word of 6 letters earns a bonus of 10 pts., 7 letters 20 pts., 8 letters 30 pts., 9 letters 40 pts. We haven't made 10 letters YET, but we will.

We have been playing Upwords for decades in my family. I do wish Target carried a more classic looking version. This is very modernized. However, the game and concept is still the same. I gifted it to a family friend and can't wait to show them how to play!

This game is fun and helps with learning words. It can be a little difficult for my 7 year old but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to play.

Bought this game for the adults in the family but my 1st grader likes trying to play, too. It's like scrabble with a twist!

We enjoyed the game but the pieces are thin and cheap for the price. I was happy I got it on a Black Friday sale for a lower price. The board swivels which is cool so no one has to look at the board upsidedown. The pieces have extra plastic hanging off them that we had to pick off so they would stack properly. Similar to scrabble but different rules so we liked it. Just wish the pieces were higher quality.

This game breaks up the screen time with remote school for my 10 year old daughter. It’s great because there’s no crazy competition like there is with other board games; we are all too busy thinking about turning our letters into words. It’s fun even without keeping score. The price definitely can’t be beat, either.

Absolutely love this product!!! It is such a modern spin on the original game Scrabble! So many more possibilities!! The game was able to go on longer & the stacks got HIGH! Also love that it comes with a. Bag for the letters so it’s not like your normal board games & pieces get lost or ruined! Perfect for teenagers and family game nights or just adults!
