We're sorry the trap didn't deliver the results you were hoping for. The Safe-Set trap uses a covered mechanism designed to prevent accidental triggers, so a few placement details make a big difference in performance. Use gloves when baiting, since transferring human scent onto the trap can make mice more cautious around it, and use only a pea-sized amount of peanut butter in the bait cup, as too much or too little can affect how reliably it triggers. Position the trap along walls or in areas with visible mouse activity (droppings, gnaw marks, or travel paths), since mice tend to travel along edges rather than open spaces.

Didnt even come near them
Very easy to set up which was nice compared to most of these traps. However, useless. Placed various of these and 3 weeks later untouched. I wore gloves did everything as instructed.

Works great
We’ve caught about 5 mice so far in our basement roof panels, works great. It is not an instant kill by any means, we heard it snap one time, and the mouse had to be struggling for a good 10 seconds. Not pleasant to hear, but the damages mice cause to furniture and wiring aren’t super pleasant either. It is easy to use, peanut butter and cat food attract them well. We’ve had the most success with that. So far I don’t think there’s been one escape. Not expensive at all either. This is definitely something more for use for a few mice rather than an infestation, we live on the edge of a wooded area with a lot of wildlife so mice are typical.

Better to buy a regular snap trap
Caught the mouse the first day I had it out; however it caught him by the head and it essentially strangled him to death. I think it would’ve been less cruel to just do a regular snap trap, it would’ve been a faster death for the guy. The trap was flipped over so he definitely struggled.

Don't work. Get the Tomcat brand
They don’t work. We got these and Tomcats at the same time. Both of the tomcats caught mice and neither of these did. We bought another pack of the Tomcat brand and again, they caught mice and these ones that we’ve had for a year now have done nothing.

Not catching mice yet!
Easy to set and place in several places, but after several days and different baits, we found mice feces but nothing trapped! Maybe the mice don’t provide enough weight to trip the mechanism.

Useless
I watched mice just dance around it. We set them up near their holes or where we’ve seen them. They aren’t interested at all it’s like they know what these things are. Glue traps are more effective

Has worked for me twice now, easy to bait I have used peanut butter twice now, a lot easier to use then a traditional mouse trap in my opinion. But the fact it’s worked twice for me I highly recommend. No clue why there are reviews saying it’s garbage I just don’t think they are using it right
